Well, LBL doesn't finish on a climb and he won that one.

I've told this before, but if Gilbert waited for Ballan at the Bosberg one of the 2 would have won it. Cancellara totally cracked there, but could come back because others were chasing a Gilbert and Ballan who were not helping each other.

Could very well happen next year if ballan is cleared for the doping charges.

He can definitely win it next year. If the finish stays in Meerbeke than there will be another climb added 8km from the finish, the Congoberg. If the finish goes somewhere else than the finish will be even hillier and the final harder. I think next year Phil will win the Ronde.

Liege is not comparable to Ronde.
It is unsurprising that a guy strongest on the hills wins here.

And the final km in LBL was still over 4%, and even if flat asif the schleks are gonna beat gilbert in a sprint.

This ain't going to happen I think, as the organisers only said the Congoberg is an extra climb that COULD possibly be included because Vandenhaute said the finale is kind of lame after the Bosberg (few people along the roads).

It would take a fair bit of importance of the Muur away and that's about the most stupid thing one can do.

I don't like the idea of adding the congoberg :(

What Flamin said, it's just showing that they could make the finale even harder if they wanted to.. I really hope they don't though!

QST should be able considering they've got that rich Czech guy involved with them.

Really hope he goes there.

As a side-note I'm interested to see how riders are divided between Lotto + Omega Pharma and what their squads will end up like. And what happens with the PT license. (oh, it ends this year anyway)

L'equipe said he'd going to BMC I think, at least what I'm reading on some tweets. Although my French isn't perfect.

so as the biggest gilbert fan boy what is your reaction about your favorite rider.

I don't mind if Cuddles, Ballan, GVA, Hincapie are used as slaves for Gilbert at the classics :D

that should be the situation for him in the ardennes they will probably all be working for him. In RVV he might have to team up with ballan.

I see Gilbert going where the money is, regardless of support. Then he won't win anything, and complain he doesn't have support. He seems like that type of rider.

I think Greipel is hoping he bounces.

Right... If you believe the transfers and rumors thread, half the peleton will be riding for BMC, another half will be riding for GreenEdge and another half will be going to one of the two Belgium teams.

Until Gilbert confirms he goes to BMC, I wouldn't count on it. Just look at who was rumored to go to BMC last year and who they finally ended with. The Cancellara rumor as example.

No, he isn't. He loves winning too much.

This rumor grows stronger every day though. I can't remember the Cancellara-BMC rumor ever gaining this kind of credibility, I was always convinced he would go to Leopard anyway.

Even the people at Sporza are convinced Gilbert will go to BMC now, which means something.

It's still a rumor, but a very tenacious one.

All cyclists love winning, and Gilbert has done a bunch of it this year. That's why I think he's looking to get paid. The rest is sarcastic speculation on my part, but I honestly see him riding his recent impressive palmares to the bank. He'll love those bank statements just as much as the podium.

Maybe he can get a bigger earring :D
