Did you really quote a user-comment to an article?

Is that where it was?? I read that article twice and looked at other articles on there and never found the quoted line and then though f##k it... Never read user comments if I can help it - they're even more crazy than comments in the clinic!

I liked your quote, though - must be something about it!

Did anyone else watch "BookTV" on CSPAN last night?

The author of "War at the Wall Street Journal" gave a talk.

In the Q&A part of the discusion, she mentioned that Murdoch is heavily involved in the editorial process. MicroManager. Even to the point of changing the wording of articles and deciding where the articles go.

I sure hope the WSJ has the professionalism to print a disclaimer that Murdoch OWNS a Pro Cycling Team that will be directly competing against Lance in France. Well, kind of competing. Wiggins lol.

Nope.

It's just a little history revisionism. It's cool. Headinthesandism is becoming more and more common.

You mean Hoover's great depression and GWB's voodoo economics, tax cut induced great recession were figments of the imagination?

Those unemployed people are specters?

Hihgly unlikely that Murdoch is trying to derail Armstrong so Wiggins has a better chance at the MJ - however, revenge against Armstrong for the Sunday Times libel case would be an entirely different matter ;)

I find it quite amusing that a man who had a cancer named after him (Dennis Potter named his fatal tumour "Rupert" after the "dirty digger") is going after a man who survived cancer and now makes money out of it....but has himself been called a "cancer" by Paul Kimmage, who works for a paper owned by Murdoch.

Two is Lance the movie never existed but was used a tax dodge. Not sure how much is in all of this but have to wait and see what the cat drags in the door.

So things have gone quite again. The Grand Jury has been sitting the last two weeks with not much more to report.

I expect things to heat up again this week.

Thoughts?

The LA/SoCal area, after one of the coolest June/July/Early August periods in decades, will experience a warmup starting tomorrow - see http://www.wunderground.com/DisplayDisc.asp?DiscussionCode=LOX&StateCode=CA&SafeCityName=LosAngeles&NOEXPAND=1

Other than that, my secret sources tell me that Novitzky/Miller will soon be holding a press conference, probably on September 5th.

The poster editedbymod may have more info, but for some reason his posting decreased tremendously in the last week or so. You should probably send him a PM.

This will depend on the quality of the leaks, of course. The last two weeks have been quiet but we don't know who they've been interviewing.

For me, I would just appreciate a list of names that have actually given statements, not a list of "possible" people they would be interested to hear from.

Names like Hamilton, Vaughters, Livingston and CVV-if they have gone on record as having made statements, then it will stir up interest. Especially Livingston, who works out of the basement of Mellow Johnny's bike shop in Austin Texas. If anyone were to lie to the Feds, I believe it would be him due to the nature of his relationship with Lance. His livelihood depends on his either lying or not saying anything.

sorry hog, but "The Lance Scandal" will blow over even faster than the Tiger Woods Scandal. Will blow over like a summer storm in the Alps...

And most Cancer Survivors are so forgiving it is not funny.
It is wonderful.

Enjoy the media frenzy while it lasts:)

ps....better the scandal comes out now versus during a political campaign.

So. What's the latest line in self delusion, now that this one has gone wrong?

Is Livingston a bike mechanic? How long has he been doing that, just wondering.

What does that CSA investment company think of this investigation? I am sure they are interested in reclaiming the millions they paid out to Lance.

He coaches. Back when I followed Lance on twitter, he posted pics testing on rollers in the basement studio.

And it's SCA, an insurance company

500 dollare a month coaching package.. woah.

I assume that's the delux one-on-one coaching package. You can pay that at Carmichael Training Systems, too.

FWIW, Livingston is highly regarded in the Austin area for bike fittings and position assessment. There is a performance testing area and training class area in the basement at MJ's (not your average bike shop basement).

The news cycle has indeed come to a complete stop, which probably coincides with the end of the Tour. The newspapers know that the general public won't pay attention to cycling again until next May.

Word is coming to me that there is going to be quite the story in next Wednesday’s Sports Illustrated. I’m feeling that this isn’t going to be a happy Christmas for a few people.

Bets on Armstrong making the TDU?

this rumour doing the rounds over the last 48 hours or so on twitter as well. Looks like the christmas SI is full of festive cheer.
