riccardo ricco. he apparently has an official UCI document stating that he has a haemocrit level of 51% and just genuinely didn't see the doping control station in his haste to get a post-ride massage.

Counting down the CQ rankings.

5. Farrar
14. Boasson Hagen

Farrar is on a dodgy team but we don't know whether the sprinters get a piece of that cake. EBH crafting his trade at THR is also a bit of a mark.

Maybe Rojas 35, but I'd be happy to stop with Tommy V at 36.

I think saying that 'because rider x rides for team y he must be clean" is a very stupid argument.

George Hincapie rode for Team High Road. Does that mean he was clean at that team? No. Works the other way as well

I agree.

We should also start a thread of facts and have chapters based on riders names...the "Cyclingnews cyclipedia" of facts. That would be far more interesting.

Then we could reference these facts when disingenious posters 'claim' silly points like "he had a faster cadence and trained more..." whatever.

NW

i think this would be the best thing that could be done on the forum.

The Clinicpedia would be fantastic.

I know he didn't finish, but Kenny Van Hummel. The video of his struggles during 2009 is still one of the best things I have ever watched about the Tour.

I bet he enjoyed riding up to Genting highlands at this time of year.

If you're one of the key riders on a dodgy team then it is a good argument.

But even USPS as far as we can tell didn't dope the whole team, only the guys who Lance needed. The bottom 10, the neo-pros, you wouldn't paint with the same brush as the A-Team.

If I was taking the bet as outlined in the OP then I'd use such an argument to steer clear of those who have crossed paths with notorious lineups.

To be fair I'd hope Robert Gesink, as a dutchy ofcourse, have to express a bit of nationalism ;) ;). But being honest, I can't stick my hand in the fire to say he's clean.

As for someone who is 100% clean, Freire I suppose.

This dutchie thinks Lars Boom might be natural.

He seems to be invincible at what he's good at, and relatively weak in grand tours. Others with less talent did much better in breakaways.

Five pages and no mention of Pierrick "no, don't give me tablets, supplements or energy gels. Give me real food" Fedrigo?

He and Moncoutié are my picks.

Maybe the little engine that couldn't quite, Amets Txurruka, too. Christophe Riblon, perhaps? I have relative trust in Damiano Cunego and Patrik Sinkewitz now, but obviously they fail the "have always been clean" test.

Ask any longtime Dutch amateur what they know about Terpstra and his buddy Hoogerland and they'll laugh their a*s off at your suggestion.

I think some of the younger guys like Farrar might be clean. Hopefully they are bringing in a new age of cycling.
Of the veterans I like Tommy Voekler, David Moncoutie, and favorite Oscar
Freire. Would like to think David Miller.

Geraint Thomas, also Steve Cummings - not a particularly big name but the way he was hanging on last time at the Tour.. Painfull to watch.

A bit of a long shot but Freire possibly. I realize he's Spanish but I hope to think he's clean.

Svein Tuft.

I used to believe this too. Then an informed poster here whom I trust suggested that my faith was unwarranted.

I agree with a couple above...even though he didn't finish Kenny van Hummel is clean. Which makes his season long exploits all the more impressive.

I would be curious about the comments about Terpstra and Tuft? I'd love to hear why they are not clean?

I also think Cav is clean. Unless I've missed something...
