voted Pogacar but actually... I'd most love for a winner to be someone unexpected. Like Gaudu, Gall, or idk, Hindley or Bernal. Not gonna happen obviously..

Generally, though, I'll be very boring and say that I don't think there's anyone I actively don't want to see winning.

Often times it happens I change during the race - two years ago I wanted Vingegaard to win, last year I was all in for Tadej.

So in conclusion, Lenny Martinez will win this bike race and it will make me very happy.

Someone who is not Roglic/Evenepoel/UAE rider or Visma rider. I think from the poll, only Simon Yates and the Vino option qualify.

Ideally Carapaz but I would be happy with almost anyone who fits the criteria above.
Having seen your Tour de France CQ Game entry, I smirk.

But at least I have received Anderis's selection: don't forget to send me yours by PM by noon (Italian time) tomorrow. (23 and a half hours from the timestamp on this, if you are unsure of how that relates to your current timezone)

The thread is "Who do you WANT to win the 2024 Tour de France?"

Let's be honest, at least at some point, the answer for each of us in our imaginations is: "Me"
And it could be you. Maybe not in a yellow jersey on the Champs d'Elyssees Nice seafront, but in the eyes of this forum. Your chance to win is in the Tour de France CQ Game, and you still, just about, have time to get a team in and dream of victory.

My answer is the same as when ppl ask me if I want to see baby photos or their wedding video: "No thanks".

Matteo Jorgenson: he'll be dropped on galibier with bingo but he'll make up the time with a "fuga bidone" on stage 11; after a strenuous defense on la Bonette he will be crowned in Nice as the true heir of Tom Dumoulin.
If not, go Pogi!

Not Vingegaard, because if he can even win this year he will win like 7-8 in a row.
Not Jorgenson, because if he wins it Jumbo will win like 7-8 in a row.
I would also prefer Pogacar not to win compared to others (he wins a lot) but would prefer him to Jumbo.
Oh and I almost forgot, please not A.Yates/Almeida/Ayuso winning either, for similar reason to Jumbo. Would prefer Pogacar over those three.

I want Remco to win, because if that happens and Pog/Vinge/Rogla doesn't crash out, then I'm sure it will be a spectacular tour.

I also just like the dude and there is a question mark if he really can challenge for the win. Would be nice if he could prove the sceptics wrong.

Okay, now you can tell why it made you smirk. :p

You chose Roglic and Almeida, and eschewed Simon Yates and Carapaz. Maybe you look on placement in the game as consolation for an otherwise spoiled Tour.

But more importantly, you gave me the slightest of openings to put in another plug for the game, for which I thank you. ;)

Is it really unexpected to choose my team for a game based on what I think will happen rather on what I want to happen? Do you really expect everyone to be a blinded fanboy/fangirl and does it make you smirk when they're not? :p
