Who else is enjoying the collapse of RadioShack this year?

BTW I am not enjoying the implosion w/r to the riders whom I DO care about. I think the whole RSNT metamorphosis has been an unfortunate mess for riders and staff...I feel sorry for them. ..even the Schlecks.

I AM enjoying the implosion w/r to Bruyneel....I don't believe he has ever had the best interests of his riders in mind. He is way more poisoned by his drive for money and all that comes with it, a la his partner- in -crime Armstrong.

My feelings too. Well said.

Another Shcleck bites the dust. Can't even finish a Giro.

Will these boys ever win something out right? Without whining?:p

No. They don't have the mental toughness.

They failed but at least they tried ... in most other races so far this season they were virtually non-existent. But you can still see two big problems, 1) they still lack form and fitness to compete for wins and 2) their best riders are still Voigt and Horner

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when your 2 best riders are pushing 40. Horner did what he had to do after his disappointing tt but I think its a bit of bad sportmanship to whine that Atapuma (who Phil kept calling "John" and his first name is "Darwin" as far as I know) didn't do equal length/quantity pulls as he did. Sounds to me that Horner was just outsmarted for once by a youngster. Of course with all the adrenaline flowing after the race and the frustration of his efforts going for naught it's easy to take the Schleck route and blame others for his failure. A valiant effort nonetheless. Atapuma has a bright future.

Yeah, I'm feeling this. Even Horner, who is normally a class act, has been catching the whiney bug. Seems out of character for him. Maybe its a reflection of the chatter coming out of the team car...

Not since Andy turned pro. I was a bit of a fan of them after Frank won Amstel and on the Alpe and Andy came second in the Giro, but since then all they have done is act like children :(

I'm on JB's side on the Frank in the Giro thing. Frank has a much better chance of winning the Giro then even getting on the podium at the tour this year.

I agree on this point. (Though I didn't believe he could take the Giro either, with his sour attitude) No matter what many think, JB knows how to win. And unfortunately the Schlecks have lost that kind of focus. Leopard was formed so that they could escape the authority of a strong DS like Riis. Now they've got JB to contend with. I laugh with pleasure, as they writhe through this season, with no results to speak of, and with lots of ITT miles staring them square in the face, in this years TdF. They can whine all they want about Anderson, he isn't going to do them any better than JB can do (he showed that last year with many strategic blunders). They ought to get over themselves and focus, so they don't thoroughly embarrass themselves in France.:D

Well JB wasn't even going to the Giro until his arrest in the US. That's how much he cared about Frank and the Giro.

He was meant to he at the ToC managing Horner to the win. Instead he was taken into custody and spent the entire time on the team bus! Then he magically disappeared and reappeared at the Giro to break up the party.

Frank was poor but don't praise JB. He was only there because the Feds decided to ruin his party in California.

They were stupid to work with Bruyneel in the first place. He carries much darkness. He's toxic.

At least Riis got some of his drug stuff out in the open and it's no longer questioned. Bruyneel still pretending to be the master DS.

I'm not enjoying it as much as I enjoyed the Contador ban, and Contador's stripped TDF title. I think RS has always been about the TDF.

Horner's always been a whiner. A funny and talented one, but still a whiner. He's always operated on a me-against-the-world mentality, always the outsider -- especially in his pre-Bruyneel days, when he was always complaining about Motorola's/USPS's/Discovery's "negative racing" (i.e., racing that did not allow Horner the win). Take a look at the recent VeloNews article about the Olympic selection; Horner's quotes are all about how he's never made the Olympics because he was always the outsider, because Motorola called the shots, etc etc. It's always someone else's fault in Chris's eyes -- which to me is a trait he shares with the Shlecks.

Not explicitly trying to bash the guy, I often admire him, though I haven't really liked him since his, uh, training regimen went so overboard...

I dunno. I think some of you guys are forgetting The Hog races in July.

Something tells me Team Tandy has a block of training at Tenerife coming up that will simply transform the team. It will be nice if it doesn't happen, but this is The Hog and the UCI we're talking about....

If we're in the middle of July and Team Tandy is the same mess, then it's a mixed bag.

I have the same feeling , once they presented the future of cycling but then they declined in their behaviour and are no examples at all...

i feel sorry for cancellara and voigt.. the others can go f*ck themselves.

I agree about "the others" But I have absolutely no sympathy for Old Man Voigt, or Vanity Cancellara. It was their decisions to go to that team. Especially all the hoopla about "Vanities" prolonged (cliffhanging?!) decision. Serves them all right. This team is a toxic wasteland. I laugh at it's every move.:D

I have sympathy for Hermans, Bakelants, Nizzolo, the youngsters who arrived in a spidersweb...

Regardless of how things look right now, I'd bet money that RS has a good showing in the TdF. Andy's good for second place at least 3 or 4 more years!

Hermans and Bakelants made their own decision, I feel no sympathy. I find it funny Hermans left Radioshack to join Leopard. He's been performing badly because of injuries, not because of the team anyway. They'll easily find a new team though when Radioshack disbands. Lotto seems a likely candidate and they'll be eager to get their hands on them.

The only one I feel sympathy towards is Maxim Monfort. He remains loyal to the Schlecks even if they're not worth it. He's a pretty good domestique and I just wish he got more chances to ride for him self... He was top 10 in the Vuelta last year which surprised me a lot. Didn't think he had it in him.

And Voigt also remains loyal, good man. He had a good career though.
