With the long ITT Wiggins in 2012 tdf shape would be legit threat. I think his days as a GT rider are passed, but Sky could send him just to mess with Contadors plans, although bad weather could be a problem for him. :)

Yes, nobody will deny that. It's just that Wiggins advantage after the ITT could force Contador to go all out on a few mountain stages, he would be forced to attack after the itt and couldn't just cover attacks a conserve energy for the tdf.

Not only he needs his 2012 fitness but a similar team. Wiggins need several things going in his favor to beat a fit Contador.

makes sense except you forgot that Wiggins will be riding in the gruppetto so there wont be any need to attack him

1. Contador
2. Nibs/Aru
3. Kelderman (dat TT doe)
4. Pozzo

Nah, he will be doing the Tour. Don't know about Dan Martin's TT abilities, but the route is almost tailor-made for him. No very hard MTF or brutal stages. Péraud also have a good chance if he chooses to ride.

It features softer stages this time, so it opens up for more riders.

Kelderman will ride the Tour in 2015. It can be a fantastic Giro with Contador, Aru, Nibali?, Purito, Porte?, Valverde?, Arredondo, Wellens, Chaves?, Pozzovivo, Kwiatkowski?

As a Frenchman (And i apologize now for my poor vocabulary and basics grammar errors), i have to say that Pinot said several times in trade press that he wants to do the Giro in 2015.

To resume , he loves the route, the TT is long but he did well in the Tour, he isn't afraid by the participation of Contador or Nibali because he wants to ride when the best are involve too.

Now he's waiting to see the route of the TDF to be sure to aim which GT suits him the most.

I hope he'll do the Giro, and i am pretty impatient to see a Pinot/Aru duel for the white jersey !

If this is true that would be great! I know some posters here were worried with him being french, on a french team, that he would only go for the Tour. I would love to see him in the Giro. In general terms I think the Giro will suit him better than the Tour.

Well looks like I posted this too soon if Froome shows up with the strong team that will follow it's significantly more difficult for Contador to win. With the long TT I'd give Froome a slight edge.

If Froome can get back to his '13 form (big if for me) he will be a favorite to win the Giro regardless of competition imo.

In '14 form the Giro will be very open.

I hope Froome does ride this. The Tour just wants to rest on its laurels as it puts out trash routes.

Can Mod add Froom into this? Or shall we open a new thread?:D

Done.
The Sky leader option has now been changed to Froome.

Now let's see if it get's any votes...we all know Contador will crush Froome like it's 2011. :D
