I hope Froome does ride this. The Tour just wants to rest on its laurels as it puts out trash routes.

Agreed. It would be the ultimate punishment for ASO if Froome and Contador both skip the Tour/ focus on the Giro. I'd love that.

Hesjedal REALLY?

Martin or Talansky will be leader, cannot fathom why he is even a choice in that poll.

Voted contador btw

I'd love to see Froome vs. Contador in top shape at the Giro. If Nibs shows up too, it'd be Christmas in May. Out of those three, it'd be a toss up.

The Giro is in May and there's only 2 sides to a coin. Would be fun, but it ain't gonna happen.

What if Froome rides Tirreno and stomps all over Alberto i bet he will decide he will do the TDF. Nibali is probz laughing he know's if these two do the Giro he as is excuse, "Oh the team likes Aru" Nibali is just a weasel. It will make me eat humble pie if he does do the Giro...

Also with hardly any ITT kms Aru can do a good TDF, why not send him to TDF, with Nibali then let the road decide.

The route is good for Nibali and he is the defending winner. The natural decision is for him to do just the Tour.

I think the podium will be Contador > Uran/Aru (not sure who gets which spot) but I do hope Rigo can do it this time. He was 2nd in 2013 and 2014. And with so many TT-kilometers, his chances of distancing at least Aru are not the worst.

But unfortunately he won't escpae Berto in the mountains.

Have to guess Contador will be ready and the most likely to win this.

Hoping Nibali and Froome show up too? But I have not been keeping up with the all the news lately. Last I checked it sounded like Froome and Nibs would be riding the Tour.

I think Froome can and should though.

Agree on both accounts. TdF route does not match Froome's strengths with so few itt kms. Would really like to see a rematch of Contador, Froome and Nibali at the Giro, though :) Route looks really good for a contest!

At the end of the day he will ride the Tour and not the Giro. They pay him to contend for the Tour win.

Agree with Netserk. This is all just media stunt, there's 0% chance he'll do the Giro.

it's funny because the same can be said about AC.

No it can't. Contador has specifically said that he'll ride the Giro, it's no bluff. After that he'll do the Tour as well, unlike what Froome hints at.

Contador said he's planning to, not that he will. Still a long way to go from now to May.

“Waiting for some details, I can announce that my first goal on 2015 will be the Giro d'Italia,”

" we have decided that my first goal of the 2015 will be the Giro d'Italia"

"My starting point for 2015 is the Giro, all the rest will come later,"

"When I decided to race the Giro d’Italia last month, I didn’t know the route yet, but now seeing it, I believe that it’s suited to aggressive racers like me"

First he said that he'd do the Giro next year and then he confirmed it later that he indeed will do the Giro-Tour double. If that's not committing to ride a race, then nobody ever does that before the sign-in. It certainly isn't comparable to Froome's words at all.
