He is, but 90% of the Belgians either don't know or don't care. And no one ever calls him by his title.

Indeed lol I didn't know it but i'm not surprised though

the fact that the EU won was a total farce imo. Probably 95% of the population only gives a damn about what each decision regarding the recession means for themselves, instead for the whole community.

An organisation that has been a guarantee for peace for so long deserves one.

You wanted to know what it feels like to troll?

Are you saying saying it should dissolve? Politics, everyone knows that the EU can use some good news in these times.

Still, I am sure the financial markets will love whatever 'native coin' whatever-country you are from used.

I believe in the EU, because we have no choice but to hope that it'll eventually be what it should be. At least that is a lot better, than to live like GB who appearantly still believes they are living in the days of the British Empire.

Are there organisations or people who deserve this prize more? Absolutely, but none of those would have garnered the same publicity. Say, 'Doctors without Borders' won then everyone would be like: "Yeah... they deserved it." that would not mean much for the organisation in the long run, while the EU could definitely use this.

PS: Brush up on the rather severe tensions between France and West-Germany.

None of my business, but I think you will find West Germany ceased to be a country in 1990...
Might be worthwhile brushing up on things if encouraging others?

Lol. Lol. Lol.

Major cause and effect confusion going on. Nato has done far more to guarantee peace in the region, and the revolting constructs put in place by the EU on monetary policy are now doing more than anything else to endanger peace and prosperity in the region (although admittedly, as designed, it is propping up Germany's trade surplace very successfully).

If Wiggins is offered it, he should turn it down.
Doesn't suit his image.
He's a class, confident act these days: see him playing guitar at SPOTY after show party?

Style and class and personality in shovelfuls: I think that confidence will show in his performances next year.

Wow that is Not Entertainment!! Yikes the singer really stinks :D

As much as I dislike him Wiggo looked good though....

Point of the honours system, whether you like it or not, is to reward those that contribute to society.

Now what have Wiggins et al contributed this year?? a huge kick in the morale of the general populus of this country and going back 4 years to Chris Hoys knighthood the net effect of those honours or rewards was to help motivate another 1,000,000 new people onto the roads and forests on bikes.

So by winning what he did this year Wiggo has contibuted massively to the whole country, any reward is deserved.

Wouldn't it be delicious if, at the next after-party, Sir BMW
plays and sings his version of the Jam's 'Burning Sky."
I would love to see how those that inhabit the Clinic would
analyse the lyrics.

Wiggo's self esteem seems to be back.
Can Froome play guitar too?
Can't wait for all Sky drama next year. :D

Congratulations to Sir BMW for lending his celebrity to
a worthwhile charity and helping raise money for those
unfortunate enough to need the help.
BMW is exactly the personality we need to rescue the
credibility of professional road cycling.

He looks as comfortable with on rhythm guitar as he does on a bike. Years of practice.

Now Brad, about those races next year...

Have we had "Cycling: the New Rock n Roll" headlines in lad mags yet?
