F..king Cancellara won Tirreno. And that particular edition included Montelupone.

Of course Wiggo has a chance of winning that race.

Canc is more explosive and was pretty much in top shape at that monet. How good will Wiggins be there?

And don't forget that Contador is in the race ;)

A bit better than gasparatto :)

Hasn't Froome said he'll be riding Tirreno as well?

If Sky bring a monster team for the TTT then that could make the difference...

the ttt is usually like 15 km? so no, that won't be the winning factor. they are not going to throw minutes there. only seconds.

and tirreno is decided by seconds. Remember gesink got a huge headstart over scarponi in 2011 which he slowly leaked stage after stage after stage but it was still enough to leave him with only 5 seconds to make up in the final tt.

30 seconds could be very decisive. Only 26 seconds separated Nibali, Horner and Kreuziger this year. In fact the TTT very nearly cost Nibali victory.

if wiggo and sky come as last year, alberto will have a tough time
hoping for a great showdown on all the terrains
and fortunately, with alberto, the entertainment is guaranteed

but wiggins is going to lose more than seconds outside of the ttt and itt, depending on the course, but if it's like last year, then yes.

Brailsford as well Kennaugh gets MBE.

Nothing for Geraint Thomas or Ed Clancy? They are both MBEs already but I would have thought an OBE would have been awarded as they have done with Jason Kenny who was also already an MBE. Burke and Kennaugh got MBEs

They along with Chris Hoy are the only gold medalists not included (though Chris Hoy is already a knight so not much else they could do there!)

I guess that an individual gold is ranked more highly so it warrants an OBE. Laura Trott was awarded an OBE, but her teammates in the pursuit were awarded a MBE.

And if Rodriguez makes it to the start line and brings his Vuelta form then all sorts of **** could happen , i really fancy J-Rod to win it all.

All you'd ask for is for everyone to get there in the best shape and frame of mind...and to avoid accidents. If that happens, it'll be fun to watrch, whatever the outcome.

I'd really like to see whether the SKY train could relentlessly reel in the barrage of sharp attacks from Contador, AS and the like. Jrod in the mix would be ace.

So disrespectful to even consider this ;)

It should be interesting though for like 2 minutes.

Seeing the sky train with 4, 5 guys and then Contador moving to the right of the road and BAM!!!

Right now it's still a dream but just wait

Btw since when does purito attacks more than 1 time? That's not his game, he attacks on time in the last 2 km. That might change but i'm afraid he might blow himself up then.

in tirreno we have walls, even harder than de muur. wiggins will lose lots of time there. also he's so unexplosive, which kills any aspirations of winning the tirreno.

you're so right. like the time he lost on PdBF last Tour on that final wall.

In my view guys most of you vastly overrate explosiveness itself. I sincerely don't know why maybe because you don't like Sky or prefer attacking cycling. Explosiveness really gives some advantage, but after 400-500 meters a rider hits necessity to keep up the same tempo which is possible no matter how strong he is. And in this case a steady climber's advantage starts working. That's the main reason why:
- definetely good explosive climbers like Rodriguez or Cunego so rarely try to make a move induvidually;
- why we see attacks from big pack overly seldom.

I'm sure while being in form Wiggins will defend very strongly.

I know what a wall is. He said Wiggins lacks explosion. My reply was about that. Planche has last 500m with 16% or something. And Wiggins was right there with a Fleche winner.
