From Sky website:

After crossing the line Wiggins, who will not ride the national road race on Sunday, said: "It was full commitment today. Any time trial you go into as Olympic champion, especially at the British championships, you want to win it.

"This is probably the best British championships they've ever had in terms of the field and the way the event's been run.

"I think G was perhaps the rider I feared most today, especially on home soil and the form he's in. I didn't take anything for granted today."

It looks like Wiggo may have been doing a lot of specific track and TT work and less endurance which may explain why he's not doing the road race and why he beat Thomas by a big margin. So it looks like the rest of his year might look something like this:

Commonwealth Games track and TT
Tour of Poland
Vuelta (as training for the worlds)
World TT

I went to see a bit of the TT as it was up the road from me. Wiggins was visibly quicker than the rest even over just a 300m stretch of road!

How did he look? Fat and powerful or lean and GC-like?

I'm pretty sure he will ride the Tour of Britain again.

lol these guys never look fat! i think the notion that Wiggins' weight is constantly changing by large amounts is ridiculous. you're talking about maybe 3-4 kgs at the most - not something you can notice as they fly past you at 30mph!

To wear this jersey is always a privilege,” Wiggins said. “This is probably my last British time trial championship so to win it and perhaps never come back again, it’s quite a nice way to end it.”

His words prompted immediate speculation as to why he would not be returning to the nationals, with one possibility that he will leave Team Sky at the end of the season. Wiggins admitted at the start of the month that he would probably need to do so if he ever wanted to ride in the Tour de France again, with Orica-GreenEdge known to be interested in him. As diplomatic as he was - and he hit the right notes here PR-wise, praising Froome, saying Team Sky’s leader was still Tour favourite - he could not entirely disguise the tensions bubbling away beneath the surface, making one pointed comment about lacking preparation for the Tour de Suisse after diverting his attention to the track.

There you go.

Eight better riders than him selected. Yup, right!
Why Brailsford didn't confirm what we all knew two weeks ago we shall never know. We'll see next month whether his touch as a team manager has deserted him.
Wiggins should be at the Tour.

If a team was selected purely on form there is not doubt Wiggins would benefit the team. But it is also about team dynamics.

Thomas incidentally said he rode the time trial without taking too much risk. How much closer he would have been who knows.

Of course he won't look fat by I was hoping that you would catch my drift. Either way, I can see how it is hard to determine at 30 mph.

With my crash in Switzerland, I probably lacked some preparation, so it came down that there were probably eight better guys that could go in front of me.

Very diplomatic from Brad, can't really beleive there where 8 better guys than him:mad:

Really hoping Porte gets dropped like a stone on the first mountain stage and Froome gets mugged by Rogers, Roche and Kreutziger - two years ago I was cheering for the Froome dog to be let off the leash of the Sky train but since then he has revealed himself to be a sly and insecure man.

Bad news day for Wiggins.

Number 1 - confirmed not in the Tour team.

Number 2 - Might not even be the world's most famous Wiggins for too much longer.
