I don't get all the people that say "It needed to be said".

I think he said the exact same thing everyone has been saying for decades, except with a few c***s and w*nkers thrown in.

Which was just that more unprofessional of him. Not very classy. Not at all.

No signs of weakness of Wiggins also today... Menchov has space and will probably improve little bit, Nibali now has the experience to keep his level within 3 weeks, Evans is hard to rate, Froome even harder.
Wiggins is on track, he just needs to defend, and Rogers, Porte and Froome do their domestique roles perfectly.
Tomorrow next real test, but I dont see anyone who could really drop Wiggins at the moment, except maybe Froome, who isn´t allowed to do so.

finally a rivalry in cycling,finally!

According to Nibali, Wiggins taunted him at the finish. He turned, looked him in the face and waved as if to remind Nibali of his presence.

wiggo!!

LOL, not much of a rivalry though.

indeed wiggo will destroy nibali tomorrow :)

still 1000x better than andy-alberto girly soap opera
Yes I think the last Ks of the climb up to La Toussuire are going to be brutal, if Wiggo has the legs he's certainly not going let that opportunity pass to step on Evans and Nibali a bit more. I see a Wiggo/Froome 1/2 up there.

it's important to make a point also against froomy
man if i'd be wiggo i would be scared to start the last itt with just 1:30 on froomy.ask bjarne in '96

Wiggin's foul mouth

What foul mouth on Wiggins! Surprised by his lack of professionalism in the media. He is an intellent guy and can be well spoken but why such filthy language. Betting against him now.. .. .

This is from today's presser in answer to Tan:-

His response:
"I understand it from certain parts of the media, but I don't feel like I should have to sit here and justify everything I have done to the world. I'm not some s**t rider who has just came from nowhere. I've been three times Olympic champion on the track. People have to realise what kind of engine you need to win an Olympic gold medal as an individual pursuiter. I've been six times world champion, fourth in the Tour de France, third in the Vuelta last year. It's not like I've just come from nowhere. I've got an incredible pedigree behind me, junior world champion since I was 18 and an incredible rise through the ranks.

"I didn't lose my cool, I just said what I think. It's completely different. If I'd lost my cool, this table would've been on the floor down there. That's the difference. I just don't feel like I have to sit here and justify to everyone.

"To me, it's them p**sing all over everything I've done, by just saying 'Oh yes, he's cheating' or whatever. That's what really gets to me. Everyone in their individual jobs works hard at what they do. Everyone on this Tour has got a certain job to do and they work hard on it. That's no different to the riders and the position I'm in now. Yes, I'm in the yellow jersey and I'm inspiring maybe kids to take up cycling, this, that and the other.

"But ultimately I've worked hard to be in this position and I deserve every minute of what I've been through this last week or so, especially after sitting at home last year and watching it on the telly. There's one reason why I'm in this position and that's because I've worked hard and I shouldn't have to justify all that other stuff which we spoke about the other day to certain parts of the world.

"I'm tested by the UCI God knows how many times a year, God knows how many times on this race and the Dauphine. Blood tested in the morning. What more can I do? Other than that? I don't know. I'd love to know. I'm only human at the end of the day. I'm not this robot. I'm just a kid from London who happened to be good at cycling, made it here.

"I make mistakes in my life, I swear, I'm not this fantastic role model that everyone wants me to be. I am good at riding my bike and performing on my bike. Other than that, sitting up here, answering all these questions every day, trying to be articulate about it. I don't know what else I can do, other than that."

Yes Riis got lucky there, but Wiggo is the better ITTer here, I don't think Froome ever beat him outside the Vuelta ITT last year where Wiggo said it was too hot and he started too fast. It could be close, but unless he crashes I don't see Froomey beating him by 2+ minutes.

Wiggo's shown he can be brash and if he gets the opportunity to demoralize his opponents even more he'll do it, La Touissuire looks like a good to do it to me, should be fun.

Dude is kind of lacking in the class department.:( Sean Kelly may be right about his seeming inability to respond well to extreme pressure. I'm almost dreading him actually winning the Tour. His attitude now is pretty bad but once he's won, he may become the 2nd coming of someone I'd prefer not to mention.

one think to learn from lance is that on the last itt,you should have a 4+ minute gap on the second rider if you really want to be relaxed.1:30 can be dangerous on froomy with his recovery, you never know.one crash or one,two flats god forbid and the tour is lost
he has to put time on froomy above all

LOL when he takes on Contador we'll find out just how good he really is.....the pace changes and accelerations will cook him quickly.

Meanwhile he and SKY are riding like BEASTS. Wish he'd have more class when speaking though.....

And Nibbles constantly dissing him in the press is a model of class.

His attitude today towards Nibali shows how insecure he is. And he's already the 2nd coming of that rider, just read the last paragraph.
