noticable compared with the RS monstrosity, the lack of branding.. bike manufacturer, name, team name on saddle post, and thats it.. wonderfully simple and classy..

and so pleased its black and blue like the HD colours..

Beautiful bike. And I agree on the colours. Can't wait to see the kit.

And one other note: great marketing by the team. Much more bang for the buck including the bike in the interview. I'm sure there will be another formal roll out of the team bike, kit, etc., but this was a nice morsel to tide folks over until that time.

I think Wiggins may just be Contador's biggest threat next year. I know he has alot left in him when he neutralises the other riders "advantages" with the help Brailsford will provide him with. Would be good to see him win the Tour.

Most think this was as good as he will do. But I reckon he can climb a few steps, because Garmin were not gonna support him doing it like the GC riders do to win.

Based on what? Wiggins hasn't proven he can climb with AC or AS. No big TTs this year either.

How much more weight can this guy lose anways? My prediction is that Wiggins will be just another one of the myriad of racers who can get a top 10 and nothing more.

Wiggins didn't even finish podium this year, what makes people think he can be a challenger to Contador next year, when the opposition only gets tougher compared to last year?

With Wiggins now in Team Sky I wonder where that leaves Garmin and the Tour? Will Vdv and Farrar be enough to get them an invite in the stiff competition for wild cards. Garmin is not among the teams that are in any awy guaranteed a spot as far as I remember.

Wiggins to Sky? Only Paul Weller of The Jam could explain that one.

Sure, there's money and the chance to be on the first UK ProTour team but that was a premature move and will be a step back as far as tour results. He owed Garmin that final year if for nothing else than helping him to the next level. That was the perfect team for him. I'll venture to say he just fell out of the top 10 for next's years Tour. I'm a huge fan of Wiggins but he let his head swell and Sky did everything they could to inflate his ego. I think only fellow 60's mod Paul Weller of the Jam could give us the proper perspective on Wiggins' motivations.

I'm not sure how much I'd read into it, but following his twitter feed seemed to indicate a decent amount of drinking in the off season. I wonder how much he 'lives the life of the racer' as they say here in Italy.

He seems like a nice guy, but between Contador, "them Schleck boys", and so on, I think 4th may have been his high point at the Tour. Something to be proud of for a rider no one expected to see there, but nothing to let go to your head, either.

I think a 4 year deal is great for Wiggo, not so great for Sky. I can't see him consistently challenging Schleck and Contador over that period for the Maillot Jaune.

I'm more concerned about where this leaves Garmin. Will they just sit on their pot of cash until next year?

Nice bonus for AC maybe? Maybe the hog was right all along.

I don't doubt that the Hog was passing along good info. I think the schizophrenia of the KCF scuttled those plans. Frankly, I still think there is a better than 50% chance the Kazakh's do something that opens the door to AC leaving. The question I have is if AC is putting in time training with guys on Astana to put him over the top, does he really walk away even when given the chance? For some reason I think he'd feel some moral obligation to those guys (like Noval, Navarro, Hernandez, Periero) that he would think more than once, more than twice before he made such a move. But that's just my opinion.

Why does Wiggins dress like he is Paul Weller?
Any guy under the age of 50 who wears an ascot is a douchebag in my book. I'm glad Wiggo has gone to Sky but it was annoying how much he denied it in the past few months.

I also think that it is unlikely he will place 4th or better in 2010. With so many GC contenders (Lance, Contador, Levi, Schlecks, Cadel, etc) and the fact that teams will be watching him much more closely, I'd be suprised if he even breaks into the top 10.

Only in England...multi million contract for one decent year or more apt, at one race...this all smacks of "Henman-ia"...

Four years? That's a great contract for Wiggins. Assuming he honours the full term that is ;). Well best of luck to him and thank God this soap opera is over.

That Pinarello looks fantastic in simple black & blue, hopefully that Shack bike in the other thread was only a joke. It could induce seizures if you watched it moving.

Ever heard of the Rainbow Jersey contending the GC at le Tour? Evans already had his cursed year. It was called 2009. Worst ever performance at the Tour, which is the one race he focuses on. Bad luck at a bad time at the Vuelta.

I don't think the curse will affect Evans, partly because the curse is a bit of a joke. It's a statistical myth.

When someone wins the Worlds, the majority of the time its at the end of a successful 1-2 years racing at the very top of the podium. Multiple wins, dominance in one-day races, multiple podiums. But inevitably, when you are at the top, the only way to go is down. This downfall is highlighted as a more meaningful statistic when it happens to the WC, than any other rider.

But, it happens to many many many riders. Many of these riders go either unnoticed or simply stated as 'lost their form of yesteryear' or something along those lines. But when the WC drops form, it's a 'curse'?.. statistical bias, IMO.

Back to the thread, I agree with BD that it may well be Evans b!tch-slapping Wiggins :D

Greg LeMond won the Tour in the rainbow jersey. Gianni Bugno finished third.

Wiggins a Mod?!

and his spanking new vespa

I always suspected he was a Mod because of his love of the Pop art Union Jack, but never cared to check. Your post inspired a google search, and Wiggo just got a new fan. Hope he doesn't get pinched for having some French Blues or Purple Hearts.

Personally I think this is Wiggins striking while the iron is still hot. There is a tremendous risk that he underwhelms next year. No TTT. Lots of climbing in the final week. Not a very strong GT team at Sky. This is about money.

I agree...nothing wrong with that...I highly doubt he will be anywhere near the podium next year or beyond that...Garmin would have been the better team for that anyhow...but good luck to him. But seriously, the dressing up like Paul Weller thing just has to go or we'll see Bradly hosting Blue Peter in about 4 and a half years time...

So we won't see Wiggo pull VDV up the mountains like I speculated earlier, instead we can look forward to a leadership struggle at Sky. Didn't Lokvist say he expects leadership at the Tour....whuh-oh.

But hey they have beautiful bikes....

These forums need more bike porn, just sayin.

yeah...why not...someone could start a thread where we show off pics of our bike...we might as well be able to brag to one another via our uber expensive bikes...my wife doesn't seem to get too worked up over my going on about that new crankset...
