Cancellara's next stage races as per Wielerflits, who cite (paper edition of) Gazetta dello Sport as the source:

Tour of Belgium
Tour of Switzerland
Tour de France

(no Giro)

Well that sucks. :( Was really hoping he would do the Giro, It would be a lot better then doing the Tour again, and align with his later season goals better. Hope he does end up doing the Giro.

well done valve pithy. Called it before anyone else.

Though what ****es me off most is those **** ***** sons of **** at Amaury sports have a ttt rather than an event where people earn their time.

Though same with rcs

What's that supposed to mean.

Well if there wasn't a ttt there would be a time trial. I'm pretty sure they'd rather have him contending for a leaders jersey then be the difference between finishing 30 seconds down and 35 seconds down. When it's possible they won't even have a gc guy there so it wouldn't matter one iota.

Zubeldia isn't a GC guy ? C'mon ! Andy's still going, to keep the sponsors happy so Zubeldia it is ! Actually I thought Zubeldia's ride last year was pretty good for a guy that had no chance of winning the race and is in the veteran category.

I forgot to mention last week that his DS implied that he was going for the double in Firenze. As far as I know both Martin and Wiggins target the TT as well, so... yeah. The Clinic will go nuts if that happens.

The ITT will be just as hard for him to win as the RR. If he wants to win one he will have to focus everything on that discipline which means the other will suffer. So yeh, hilarious if he won both.

The TT would be cool to win again, but winning the RR should be the main goal. He has not won it before, and he needs it (and a few things more) to get a perfect palmares for the classics, which is what he aims for.

No, like he said, he's won everything he can at the Tour. Plus I don't think Radioshack will be pressuring him to do the Tour to help Andy. After last year they need some good results, as does Cance. And both of them know that Cance has a better chance of getting those results by doing Giro-Vuelta, rather than the Tour.

Andy will be domestique for Tiago Machado

no chance for the road race this year. only if he will become a climber until then which i highly doubt. those aren't one minute paterberg efforts, it's a 10 minutes climb done 10 times or something
it will be italia versus espana all the way. and colombia of course

That's probably very true this year. I was also talking about Cancellara's career in general, but I know it will become difficult the next couple of years.

After PR Dirk Demol was asked what Cancellara's next big goal is. According to him he would focus on the double at the Worlds :D This is in line with that imo.

- oh s/o else already mentioned

That course suited him really well, but he was still easily among the best 10 climbers in that race, even if the climbs weren't that difficult. He was crazy good that race.

he won the 09 tour the suisse because the course was hand made for him, he wouldn't have won any other edition that i can think of.

I know that, but still the course was hard of course. it wasn't like he won out of 8 flat stages and 2 itt's. not by a long shot, just look at the names he beat.

Canc is certainly good in the hills, but this year's Worlds really has a very hard course. I know, they say that every time, but this one looks like a pure climbers race. To compete against them with his 80 kg frame will be difficult, he'll have to do a lot of daredevil descents.
