I know that, but still the course was hard of course. it wasn't like he won out of 8 flat stages and 2 itt's. not by a long shot, just look at the names he beat.

The course had 3 selective medium mountain stages and close to 50km's of itt so it lacked the only real thing cancellara is bad at and something suisse has plenty of, which are HC and proper 1st cat mountains.

Still is undeniable that he was on some monster shape at the time, we just have to look at the huge time he put into everyone on the prologue and ITT.

I just think we should always put some context into his suisse win.

Either way i am not so sure he will be fully capable of handling the worlds course as it is even harder then mendrisio with a proper 5k climb and a steep wall plus some really tough climbs before getting into the circuit.

But coming from him i would no longer be surprised

Interesting plan by cancellara, hope that focusing completely on worlds ends up working out for him. Hard to see him winning the road race, but if there is one 82kg rider that could do it, it's Fabain Cancellara.

Actually kinda glad he won't be competing in the Tour the more I think about it. It's awkward position on the calender doesn't make riding it too much of a benefit for him, especially since he has to ride the Vuelta to get good preparation for worlds.

I voted yes.

I think Cancellara shouldn't miss the 100th Tour de France edition, despite i didn't like him, he's been a classic presence on Le Tour for many years and he'll probably try to "steal" a stage, probably stage 4 TTT or stage 11 ITT to be on the podium.

So i'm surprised with that news.
