rest day equals transfusion day

the only positive in this years tour is for recreational blow

nothing more to be seen here

too much risk for the uci to have a major player done on the dope
that usually happens in the week leading up to the start

astana under the spotlight
nibbles tiptoeing around trying not to trip the wires
hence his less than par 1st week

hoping ac, nibbles, tjvg, q-dawg valverde top up large and can compete
otherwise
froome-dawg to drop a f-bomb on the the first mtf and stare back to the chasing pack
in between stem gazing
and say
how bout them apples boys

see you in paris
i'll put the kettle on

He looked very human towards the end of that TTT.
Human in what way? As if he isn't on the dope ...
He dragged his team up that hill but wtf was Basso still doing there  thank goodness they didn't have a Roche situation

Just before the final bend it looked like he was moving to the back and kinda stuffed. I may have mistaken him for another rider though. He was there on the front at the end, but I meant a bit back from there.

ok I will check the video

Do you have any opinions on that photo I posted on twitter? 400W lactic threshold and 420W FTP? Do those numbers vary with form? Are those numbers high or "meh"? I have no idea how to read them

top dog FTPs are like industrial secrets. so this is obviously mind game territory. power output obviously varies with form. but assuming a 60kg contador and taking the output of 420w, then 420w / 60kg yields 7w/kg. read: if even close to reality, this is very doped and so very meh. (assuming FTP defined as max output for 1hr, as is customary)

I just watched the video. He does a long pull (1'15") until the 1km arch, then he drops back to the last wheel. The images cut to Sky reaching the intermediate checkpoint and when they cut back again, Alberto is leading his team through the final corner. I don't see anything strange :)

It was a picture a journalist snapped of his TTT warmup. It had codes and watt numbers, like 1'LTH (1 minute at lactic threshold) - 400W and 1'FTP - 420W

Edit: here it is

If he is 62kg, then the power to weight of 6.77kg is kinda nuts.

Alien nuts.

They would be his peak figures after fine tuned training for the most important race of the year, at a guess. Definitely vary with form - you'd expect him to be 10-20% down from there after the Christmas cafe ride holiday Chris Froome imagines Alberto does.

Strange as in Alberto looking human? Ok :D

When he gets to the back the look on his face said - Are we there yet? to me :D Mind you that's 1am in the mornng here, so my own tiredness is a factor too.

~7W/kg for an hour. Sure. Even worse trolling (mind gaming) than the claimed climbing time by Porte on Madone.

So you think they'll let Contador cook himself in the warm up to troll some people who may or may not see those numbers?

Besides we do not know
1 Contador's weight
2 If it is for an hour or just 45 minutes

And as Dear Wiggo mentioned, it might be his FTP in peak condition, which he clearly won't reach this year.

Fvcking stupid smiley quota is fvcking stupid.
I think I am missing your point? Do you think it is weird he looked a bit tired or spent after that effort?

In agreement, I responded: He looked very human towards the end of that TTT.

ie: yes, he looks like he needs a darn good rest.

Nothing weird, judgey or anything like that.

ok, I missed that.

I think he needs a bag or 2 besides a good rest.

No other way to beat the mutant stick insect alien.

But I am confident Alberto will do everything necessary to work him over. Perhaps resulting in a slightly early retirement

Yeah what's up with retirement talk at the top of his game. Wowzers Giro-Tour would be epic time to quit. Giro-Tour-Vuelta would be epicer though.

Depends if that figure is taken for 1 hour or for 20 minutes. Threshold for 1 hour is typically 95% of the 20 minute figure. If 420W is for 20 minutes then it's getting plausible rather than mutant.

Don't know anyone who calls their 20' power, "FTP".

I don't think he will retire if he wins the Tour. Maybe if all the stars align and he wins the triple :)
That's not what I meant though. I meant going out with a bang. But not the kind of bang he wanted.
I don't trust Crookson. Oleg isn't making the UCI like him very much. And Alberto will do everything to win.
I'm worried

Doesn't Majka needs a nice, shiny beetroot bag too? One of Contador's main problems is the lack of a team in the mountains.

... and now losing Basso (who may, according to the prophet, return next year in stellar form if cured)
