I think they were getting tired of marking moves. No-one told them it was a race.

really that can't be true!!!
if it is so, it is just outrageous, why not just have the trophy to SKY already? ridiculous

Given That Team Sky are utterly dominant this year, and Wiggins' form would appear in 2011 to be similar although perhaps not quite as good (considering respective P-N and Dauphine results), does anyone think that he would he would have been a contender in the 2011 tour had he not crashed?

AC fanboys/girls will probably say the standard of climbing was much better in the 2011 tour, but if so, what about Cadel? and F Schleck struggling in 2012. Maybe the standard wasn't better.

How do you know ?

They haven't raced this year with any of them ( no point counting Schleck's pointless rides in his ''prep'' races )

I could have predicted your response but your idol didn't do all that well then did he?! And Tommy V, Rolland, Frank and Cadel are all at this tour and not exactly smoking Wiggo, Froome or Nibali.

As ridiculous as it might sound, do you think you *might* be overrating the from of Alberto in last years tour.....?

Alberto was bad last year, that's why he didn't win  But in case you didn't notice Frandy and Evans were miles ahead of Alberto.

Don't forget at the TDF last year Wiggo did not have Froome, Porte or Rogers - where do you think he would have finished this year without his 3 helpers????

Yep thats what I mean, Wiggo beat Cadel in the Dauphine before last years tour, so his form was good. I think he might have pushed those top guys a bit harder than the AS/AC fanboys might think, although I aprreciate his team was somewhat weaker.

Are there any stats over climbs done in both tours to suggest how fast the lead groups were?

GC fight is so boring because of the "untouchable" SKY train, and the parcourse design is a big failure

The route was one big mountain stage away from being perfect. Although it wouldn't have changed the result at all, Sky are just too strong.

Listen up bro, you're not seriously thinking Wiggins could beat Alberto, Evans, Andy etc in top form right?

Alberto...No, but he wasn't in top form.

Andy S....No, not on the big climbs but neither could Cadel and he won the tour.

Cadel....CE of 2011 Vs Wiggo of 2011, I would go with CE but not by an awful lot.

Without the crash I think Wiggo would have been up there in the top 5 last year, maybe a chance at the podium depending on how well he and Cadel worked together to haul back 'the climbers.'

With the TTing and the strength of this Sky Team, yeah I think he would be right in the fight

Lol are you kidding me?! Alberto and Andy can put 2-3 minutes into Wiggo on a mtf. And Alberto only loses max 1 sec per km in a TT. And no there won't be 300 km of TT in a GT anywhere in the near future.

Glad to see you change your mind.

You said after the Planche des Belles Filles stage that you had your doubts about Contador jumping out from the Sky train even though Nibali more or less stayed with them.

I do agree about the difference in the attacks. Contador's is definitely a more sustained one compared to Nibali's.

I have pessimistic and optimistic moments.
