it's hard for andy to be back to the top level like he used to be. I just don't see he has the mental fortitude to conquer his problem. He used to get everything so easy, now when he got too hard obstacle, he just don't have the perseverance and attitude to beat the odds. I wonder if Riis wants to take him back (or andy is thinking to go back to Riis). Or Riis probably is happy to let andy go since at least he is out of Riis' problem now. I guess most likely, Oleg won't allow it, since there's no sure return of investment to invest with andy.

No way Riis will take him back after what happened in the 2010 Vuelta, but it is becoming clearer by the day that he never should have left.

It will be the best comeback since Tour De Lance if he does get back to 2010 form. At the moment he seems jinxed. This time it's the result of an accident not caused by him but that's racing and he was not going to achieve much apart from riding in support of Frank and Zubeldia. And even when he is not crashing he is pulling out of races and lacking motivation. It will be interesting to see who signs him, if he wants to continue, when his current contract expires. I don't think there will be many takers at the moment.

As much as i agree with you, that he will never be the same again, i think you can't blame him this time. He crashed. These things happen. I think he would have finished this Tour Top20... Not satisfying, but considering his bad luck this year. Still too less for him of course.

Maybe he will podium the vuelta. I've seen late summer work miracles the last three years. I fear that Andy has become a cynic however.
It depends on how badly Schleck wants another contract I guess. He probably doesn't want to ride the Vuelta but I think someone needs to pull him aside and tell him that he either hammers in Spain or changes career.

He seems to be in about the same place as Gesink: they both seem to have a mental block that prevents the measured recklessness and the focussed irrationality necessary to make sporting success out of physical potential.

Gesink at least seems to have reached the stage of addressing that: from the very paltry evidence that I have been aware of, I don't think Schleck has. None of us know his thought patterns well enough to know whether or when he will be ready to tackle this psychological block, or whether he will feel it is not worth the costs (not financial) of doing so.

Whether any team will have the patience to give him time to reach that point is another matter. I just hope his head can allow him to accept the limitations it has placed on him.

So dumb people are laughing at him now. If you rupture all the ligaments in your knee, you're ****ed completely. It's completely sick that he even finished the stage, that shows you how much he wants it.

He should get back to Riis. Also, Contador could teach him something about working you **** of. Can't wait for Schlecks coffee drinking twitter pics next year

If Frank hangs around at a reasonable level that may be motivation for Andy to continue. Without that though its difficult to see him putting in the work needed.
