This broadcast looks like the Afghani championships. I know, it‘s cool that they ride so well, but there are faster riders out there, you know

They do live in Switzerland, and the latest Afghan championships took place there as well. But yeah, it would be nice to see Bujak once in a while.

Blasi blasts into the lead!

I wasn't sure whether I should include her as one of the U23 favourites after her disappointing result in the Euros last week, but this course probably suits her better. However LS Sander is ahead of her at the second intermediate, and Ahtosalo and Schreiber have started well, too.

Strong start by Ottestad.

Emma Johansson's getting on my nerves now. How dare she say Danish is harder to understand than Norwegian. Surely if she had married a Dane instead, she would have claimed the opposite.

I assume it's Faulkner's own decision to not ride today and focus solely on the road race.

The USA has four riders. For heaven's sake they have brought99 year old Amber Neven. Strange, Zigart is here but yet could not make the Olympics.

They only have four riders, because Neben is Pan-American champion. She couldn't be replaced by anyone else.

I didn't expect Schreiber to beat Ahtosalo. And Chapman has lost time to Ottestad between T1 and T2.

Niedermaier has found a fast pace. Looks like she will defend the U23 gold with Liechtl in second and Schreiber third.

Brown 6s ahead, at T1, kinda hoping Vollering gets it though just because I love a spite-WC win when someone is out the door of their trade team.

At the time, I though Kopecky's performance at the Euro's was one out of the box which is reflected in her performance today.

Vollering got a good bit of draft from overtaking Labous, but Brown should also pass Schweinberger soon. However Vollering is now leading by 9 seconds.

Labous is following Vollering pretty well here, so perhaps it's possible for Brown to take time back on the flat.
