It's a weird situation that this race counts for the U23 as well. Someone like Puck Pieterse will have to work, but at the same time think of her own chances. What happens if a young rider crosses the line first? Would she get both world titles?
I think it's fine. They could have done the same in the men's world championships. I hope they abolish the U23 category all together - or reduce it to U21.

Despite the rain good crowds in the more populated parts of the course...

Eeek, some graffiti on a building, I loathe seeing graffiti in such a beautiful area. Such an eyesore.

Dang, riders not being able to hold on to their water bottles because they're wearing soaked gloves, makes the challenges of riding in the rain a bit more real.

OK so watched the first thrilling 90k, but time is up here.
I don't expect it to be as nail-biting for the final 65k..:p
