Not sure what part of the world Masking_Agent and friend are in, but based on this article, if it's the US, maybe the friend should hope that cycling does in fact make her legs unattractive ...

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life...a-skirt-too-sexy-for-new-york/article2059064/

I know that the US makes the Victorian era English look like a bunch of nudists when it comes to anything to do with the human body, but this is just *** ...

... and not just because low cut tops provide far more of a distraction than an average length skirt! ;)

hmmm... a skirt or figure hugging lycra... I know which I prefer to see on [fit] women riding.

She likes cats/doesn't shave her leg hair ? I don't get it :(
there is an alternative name for cats in english that can also be used as a somewhat derogatory term for a part of the female anatomy.

I don't know about thighs but she will get "Buns of Steel". Anyone else remember that VHS video from the later 1980's? "Shaping Your **** - The Basics of Your **** Muscles and How to ..."

this is wholesome and historical reference to a phenonenon from the big hair-disco era.

This is an interesting thread, to say the least.

I am female. I am a runner/walker. Generally I am on the treadmill 3-6 nights a week for 60-90 mins (sometimes more), just long enough to watch a movie.

I have lost 85 lbs since 2002 by just walking, running and consuming around 1200 cals a day. Also, 6 years ago, I cut out all trans fat.

I have kept that off for more than 3yrs. I am healthier now than I was in my teens and 20's.

I do ride my bike, but not like most people in this forum. I ride around town, not for speed. Just for the joy of it.

I'm also a female. Endurance athlete/cyclist/runner. If you're worried about weight the only thing I've found that works for weight loss or weight control is running. I can ride for miles and it just won't have the same effect. As far as what tones your legs.....great legs are great legs. Genetics are genetics. If you are bottom heavy I'm afraid you can run from here to the end of time and you are still gonna be bottom heavy. Thank God for good genes. She should ride because she loves it IMO.

Here is a pic of my GF. She eats on average around 3000cals a day on her low fat, high carb vegan lifestyle. She USED to have 'thunder thighs'.

Ive coached a few female cyclists that did LOTS of training but never got the slimmer body legs they were hoping for until they upped the healthy carbs and dropped the fat intake. Its not about starving, or training crazily, its about having the balance of tasty high carb, low fat whole plant foods and training smarter vs harder.

Based on the power output Freelee has held she could easily make the AIS team as a pursuit/road rider. She has no interest in competitive cycling though. One of the most talented females Ive trained with though.

The fat we eat is the fat we wear and too many cyclists think they can eat crap and 'burn it off'. Never works in the long run. Eat lots of the right stuff (high carb low fat low protein) and eat so much of it that you dont want the fatty junk. Easy. You wake up each day with topped up glycogen stores and then living the longterm active lifestyle is a sinch.

I wonder how this guy would post if he could not use the words I, me, my, and girlfriend.

you know what? It would be fantastic if you could convince Freelee to post here on her OWN behalf instead of you speaking for her on so many topics.

I am sure that more people are interested in what she has to say about her own life, than in what you have to say about your interpreted version of it.

Since at least one of you is content to continually pimp those images around the interwebs, I have a question.

Has it occurred to either of you that there is such a thing as too thin? Why is thin, thin, thin your overriding definition of "healthy"? What is too thin by your definition? Surely there must a limit at some point, no?

What message are the two of you trying to convey anyway? Since you are the one throwing these pics around as some sort of trophy, (and sometimes using suggestive remarks as well) I can only assume that you are trying to elicit a reaction.

OK, here's mine:

I find your "GF" to be ridiculously underweight, and completely unattractive as a result. :)

Congratulations. Both of you.

if everybody would please stop feeding it, it would go away. it will get thinner and thinner and thinner then.... gone!

Why don't you dig up one of those "before" thunder thigh pictures for us and post it. Now, that would be something I'd be interested in!

there was a youtube vid of her complaining about being overweight and showing the transformation. I didn't think she was too bad at all 'before'. Some pics were a little overweight and in others I thought she looked fine.

Agree with Martin though, I'd like to hear her side of the story and how she feels about being paraded about the forum constantly.

she probably loves it.

if you google her name she has a ton of sites in which she offers mentoring and/or her e-book for download. they're selling their way of life to make money, with pictures galore of her (parading around).

nothing wrong with that, mind you... but it is a little disingenuous to post it in this thread and on this forum, imo. (preying on woman with low body esteem?) nor does it really have anything to do with thinner thighs from cycling.
