Road kill a plenty. Nails:mad:, you know those rusty ugly-looking things that puncture your tyre?
Cell phones (2 of them, both smashed-up, didn't work). Swiss army knife (good condition, still have it:)).
AK-47 (no ammo), like a good citizen reported it to the police, spent two hours at the police station explaining how I found it afterwards.
First aid kit.
Pairs of sunglasses (5-6 I think, a couple in pretty decent nick).

There was something interesting also, I just can't remember it right now.

I remembered! An electric guitar with a broken neck. I thought ita was a shame, looked really nice, red with some black on it.

Me too, I found a hundred dollar bill right at the end of my ride in front of the bike shop. Took it in and turned it in, just in case someone would return asking if it was found. Three weeks later no response, and I bought a new saddle.

I found a mountain lion on the other side of a switchback while on an MTB ride. Well in truth, I guess we found each other. She was drinking from a stream and just stopped and looked at me. Made three bounds up the hill and literally disappeared into the long weeds. It was a quick ride home after that.

i cant beleive nobody yet has found there wife or husband.. :D

funny story actually I met my wife when I fell off my bike and she drove by me and carried me to the hospital, and I was there in the back of her car hitting on her, pretending that I didn't break my collarbone, so that's probably the best crash of my life.

. Back in Canada, my wife was riding in the Gatineau Hills as a black bear emerged from the woods. As we are Australian and not used to bears, this had her riding with a little more pace as well.

I live in the Gatineau Hills and I have found that bear a few times and his friend the Moose. Both can be deadly.

Non living objects include:

Porn (magazine and video...what is the deal with discarded porn?), good tublulars (when folks still used them), tools of all sorts, cell phones, stuffed toys, bungee cords, a car in a deep ditch with the driver still inside (it was not fun getting her out while wearing cycling shoes), sunglasses....

Was it this one?

Because it's mine ;)

A few dollars, single bills floating along the roadside. Countless US Quarters.

Mercedes Benz emblem.

Who said you need to be a professional to make money riding!

And, did you find the Merc badge, or is there more to that story? Once my knees are fixed I'm planning on starting Australia's largest BMW X5 badge collection...I am joking, despite having the desire to go ahead with it. Damn ignorant soccer mums/dads.

Cheers

I got to fire one on a recent vacation in Vietnam, and it was a great experience.

A 19 foot rowing shell complete with drop in sliding seat rigger and 9 foot wooden oars! Hull was banged up but the rest was good. Rode back to the house and the guy said I could have it. Rode home and got my truck and hauled it home. Fixed the 7 or so major holes and took a rowing class. Another hobby!

Just found the Mercedes badge by the road side sitting there all pouty missing the rest of its car. My niece took it later on so I have no idea where it is now, probably in a doll house somewhere? Where I ride Merc's are a dime a dozen (I don't live there) I'm still hoping something comes off a Ferrari or Lambo :p

Finding Stuff

The most usual stuff I seem to find are Stanley Knives, Spanners ( although these always seem to be half inch or thirteen mil) loads of screw drivers, and once an almost complete scket set, I searched the road and grass for ages thinking the two that were missing were out there someplace,

Almost each ride I come back with Golf-Balls and or Tennis Balls,,,,but my wife complains that they mess up my jersey pockets ..so now, before arriving home, I wash my balls in a drinking fountain.

Took a mini cycling vacation this week.. :)

Woot. Woot. Found a gold rope chain with a broken clasp. Now I just need a hairy chest to go with it.

I think Joe Papp is looking for gold rope chain. (you'll have to dig through this weeks threads to get that reference, and I don't remember where to tell you to start.)

Good to have you back. You haven't missed much.

About the only interesting thing I've found was a wedding ring, all scratched up and bent into an oval. It was in the middle of an intersection, not anywhere a pedestrian would have been, so it's a mystery as to how it got there.

Other than that, a lot of road kill, some bungie cords, the odd hubcap, and a 12 pound sledge hammer (which I didn't bother to pick up for obvious reasons :p ).

"Seen" the following: bear, many deer-some very aggressive and ****ing fast, mountain lion, many dead skunks near Calistoga, wild turkeys(unpredictable and bigger than you'd think), rattlesnakes, turtles, cash up to $5, multi-tools, various plastic action figures, lame porn(that's why it's in the ditch lads), eagles, vultures, angry fat people in SUV's. Only picked up the following-fetching rear view of a blonde woman who could ride for 30 miles at 27 mph in ****ing rain behind our team ride. Kept that find for 22 years. She's better looking than you can imagine! Just had our 21st anniversary. She also is a winemaker which opens the door for many unwanted jokes. Sometimes you get lucky and look in the right direction.
