he's the youngest TT world champion, very consistent, won about every TT this season he featured,...
What more can he do to convince you? Pay flight tickets to those that you feel are maybe better, so they dare to show up?
Well it's either him or Ganna. Reasonable arguments could be made for either. Some argument to be made for Vingegaard after this year's Tour, but not enough races to win that argument I think. Right now I'd say it's Remco, but that was a really close result in a long TT. Both riders on at least very good if not their best ever form. Great race. Two awesome champions.

Someone calling him the best TT'er in the world is a reasonable, if debatable claim. Calling that claim silly...well that says more about the poster than Remco.

You're personalizing it. I'm speaking in logical terms. It doesn't matter if it's Remco or other rider.

Would you say after Australia and until today that Tobias Foss was the best time trialist in the world? No.
I rest my case.

Let's not make it out as if he's on his very own level in this regard. The age differences between Michael Rogers' first win, Ganna's first win, and Remco's win today are negligible.

Also, he's won three out of the six time trials he has done this season. A hit rate of 50 percent is, by all means, incredibly impressive, but it's disingenuous to say that he's won about every time trial he's participated in this year.

You’re taken everything out of context. The context to argue why he is the best this year. This isn’t about comparing to Ganna / Rogers,…

He’s young, he wins where it matters, so he is the best this year. Feel free to make a case for any other rider, there are some cases to be made, but for me he’s numero uno this year.

Yes, this is indeed correct.

Only four riders have ever won both the road race and time trial across all categories with Olano and Remco being the only two to do so in the elite category:
  • Abraham Olano - 1995 Elite RR + 1998 Elite ITT
  • Evgeni Petrov - 2000 U23 RR + 2000 U23 ITT
  • Thor Hushovd - 2010 Elite RR + 1998 U23 ITT
  • Remco Evenepoel - 2018 Junior & 2022 Elite RR + 2018 Junior & 2023 Elite ITT
And Ullrich
93 Amateur RR and 99/01 Elite TT

Would like to hear from the riders what the damage was from the road race in context to today. Everyone bar Remco just seems absolutely dead, on a level that strongly surpasses Castelfidardo 2021.
I don't think it's the road race so much as it is the Tour. The top-4 didn't ride the Tour. Of the top-10, just 3 riders rode it.

Either that or Vingegaard's extraterrestrial, Clinic thread-inspiring TT in the Tour wasn't so impressive after all, because his competition on that day didn't exactly set the world on fire today.

Why is age even relevant then, if the discussion is whether or not he's the best time trialist?

If you're going to use the fact that he's the youngest winner ever as an argument to support your claim, then of course, said argument should be contextualized, which is what I did.

Just looked at the interview with WVA, suprised he was happy with the numbers he pushed and felt ok and doing good in the TT. (not super day good, but still).
He was suprised he was only 5th... Not sure what is happening with WVA, but the paintless bike / setup doesn't seem to be benificial for him.

Tarling was a beast today, given his size i think Ganna will need to fear to be beaten by Tarling on his turf.

Maybe come back and make an argument about who is a better TT this year, that's the discussion. Don't veer off. You're not adding anything.
I said he's the best, I explained why. I said he's the youngest. That's a simple fact.
