I’ve been wondering about this. 27C is manageable, even comfortable, but are they all really familiar with humidity on a functional level? There are humid days where people I train with regularly will overheat and ( as some people have mentioned), have to stay at a minimum so they don’t go hotter.
Moving along on a bike you get the cooling effect of the air so the apparent temperature is lower. The humidity is more noticable climbing when you are moving more slowly. But really, as red_flanders said, 50% humidity isn't bad at all, maybe thanks to the altitude.

This converter says 27C with between 50% and 60% humidity riding at 40km/h is an apparent temperature of between 21 and 22C. That is thanks to the cooling effect of moving air on the skin. At a lower speed of 20km/h that rises to 25C.

Not sure when all the riders arrived in Kigali but I think they should all be acclimatized to both the altitude and the mild temperature by race day.

Yeah, this is all true. It just seems from various riders’ account that there’s some combination of factors that they’re not familiar with. Evenpoel obviously worked around it.

And what the converter suggests is a clinical abstraction; maybe different to an urban environment.

Del Toro seems just have a couple of random boys with him, why is Chucky Cadena not riding? You think he'd at least be a bit more battle hardened, it's like Avenir all over again.
David and Isaac raced together at Monex, David is nicer than Eder or Isaac.. It's an all Ensenada squad. If you have access to his Facebook pages there were still photos and a couple of short videos of Eder and Isaac. The early ones are sweeter and bring a smile. Eder is @11 years older than Isaac so when Frayre was already an adult and Del Toro short little pre teen..super funny. David almost stopped riding, he left Italy, Monex and has now returned to Petrolike.
I think Mexican federation learned a valuable lesson from the dust up between Tadej Pogacar and staff not accommodating their superstar.. If I were working at Mexican federation and Del Toro asked for a favor or 2, nothing to serious, would try to please him. Super slippery slope after Del Toro was kicking azz and taking names in Italy would have been crazy to not be helpful to Del Toro ..surrounded by friends has to make him comfortable. What do I know.. Maybe Rwanda has a bunch of Mexican ex pats I don't know about.

Most Belgians and Italians arrived the past two days, so I guess it will be more or less the same for others as well. Ciccone's flight was rebooked to Wednesday, as the TT guys had problems to acclimatize.

Imo it's still too late. But hotels were super expensive.

Edit: Quinten Hermans talked a bit about the coditions in his daily blog, btw

(gt) Just like Evenepoel, I prepared for the World Championships at altitude in Livigno, Italy. And even though Kigali is lower, it feels different here—harder—because you're constantly above 1,500 meters. This means you have to pace your efforts differently than you're used to. That's why other names suddenly appear on my radar here. Guys who were born at high altitude and/or live there. Guys like Colombian Egan Bernal and Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz.

I went to the Bike Valley climate chamber in Beringen four times to acclimatize to the heat and humidity of Rwanda. But even that simulation didn't work out perfectly. The temperature feels warmer than the thermometer indicates. There's also a strange humidity here that weighs on the body. Fortunately, I had to endure more extreme conditions in Beringen. I hope my efforts will pay off on Sunday.

Taaramäe (who spends a lot of time in Rwanda) said that he doesn't expect more than 30 guys to finish the race.
