Until they reach real extremes the specific numbers are relative to what temp/humidity a rider is acclimated to prior to the race. I think most of us are familiar with that experience of riding during the cool, rainy days of spring and then there's suddenly that ride on the first really hot, sunny day that feels hotter than it will in July.

I would consider 27 a warm but pleasant day where I live, but what I’m used to isn’t terribly relevant.

Sounds to me like the weather in Denmark sucks. 😉

It's quite possible some of them aren't comfortable with those temperatures... and then adding those other things on top.

You have to wonder about soil and vegetation density.. I know everyone says altitude, altitude but place looks pretty tropical. I know going from Northern Mexico to Central and Southern part of the country, same temperature feels way hotter..and even @10-15% higher humidity feels like you are in a terrarium. The ground goes from dry and pretty sandy to rich potting soil looking stuff... Who knows but many have commented on it. Maybe it's why I hate Atlanta and Florida

One vote more for Ayuso here, gotta root the true underdog. Actually I really hope that or at least podium spot. Just think about that forum meltdown people, think about that.

I think uv-index is one big underlying factor. Personally always ranked hardest the hot days with high index, many times cloudy conditions with high index too. Had a week long vaycay in northern France Alps in the end of July-early August, temps in valleys 30-40C, tiny wind, uv-index 6-7. Was tough but not super tough going up Roselend, Saises, Madeleine aso.

In Kigali index these days moves around 12-13, it's way high even in European summer standards. It must be very hard on your body in long race in that circuit

There are just so many stomp options on this route. I don't feel that the nation that will try to control this race will win it. Hopefully Slovenia to not play that game.

He's been training with the Slovenian team for several days, the pictures have been all over his and Urska's Instagram pages.

Watching youngsters, Pogi will likely try on Kigali, it's just his style, but ultimately it will likely benefit Slovenia to have 2 riders in the mix, near the end of the race. If for whatever reason plan A falters or becomes unrealisable. And personally i would rather see having a rider in breakaway then trying to ride hard the first half of the race or to try to control the whole race by covering all attacks. This just doesn't seem realistic and others would benefit from it. Controlling hence only if other nations cooperate, otherwise no.

27 degree is good for Fausto. As he is from northern Italy as well Bergamo, he probably performs well in highly polluted areas and this is also his advantage. Maybe he can do a good performance in Sunday. Go Fausto, we are all behind you!

Tough times for Italian cycling, if his level is sufficient to go to the WCRR.
