Fairly sure the carbon footprint of WT cycling is terrible.Interrupting a bike race in the name of protesting oil seems slightly redundant. In terms of optics definitely.
F1 at Silverstone is one thing, but a bike race... is just wtf considering the push towards promoting bicycles as a clean energy alternative method of transportation anyway.
How do they know if they haven't tried? They probably don't want to chop the hands off people.
Bring in the local fire department? The pressure from those hoses might help. SPLOOOOOOOOOOSH!
You’re supposed to ease up and ride slowly, never to brake. If the protesters walked slowly in front of the peloton, it’d have been by the book.Wasn't in @Netserk who's always argued road blocking is a perfectly acceptable tactic
Fairly sure the carbon footprint of WT cycling is terrible.
How do they know if they haven't tried?
The easily avoidable part of that carbon footprint is mostly transfers that require airplanes and publicity caravans, though. Neither of those apply to the WC.Fairly sure the carbon footprint of WT cycling is terrible.
It’s about the worst possible way to protest, because whatever the message they are trying to spread, it won’t b
Maybe, but the optics are what they are. And considering Scottish road traffic is just normally going about its daily business then we're left with oil protestors protesting bikes whilst cars, trucks & whatever trundle around as per usual. It looks comical.
And this is starting to have an actual impact on this WC the longer it goes on. The whole point is it's a 270km endurance slog without a break.
I don't want to think about what else they might have glued to the road.I'm not saying it won't work. Just that it might be morally questionable...
And do we even know they're glued to the road by their hands?
It really isn’t. Most economic activity of that size pollute more.Fairly sure the carbon footprint of WT cycling is terrible.
They would probably support the cyclists riding over the protesters for some good old-fashioned corporal punishment, then the cyclists being thrown in jail for that. Its Daily Mail readers I feel sorry. Imagine their dilemma - do we support the cyclists or the people stopping the cyclists?
I will bet a penny to the pound that the real culprit are the small boats. Its Daily Mail readers I feel sorry. Imagine their dilemma - do we support the cyclists or the people stopping the cyclists?
I don't want to think about what else they might have glued to the road.![]()
So you're saying they should stop the motorway, nowhere near a global event and that would be a lot better?
That could be funny it it was face downI was just imagining that they'd poured some glue on the road, and lied down.
The Daily Mail-arguably the world’s greatest newspaper. What time do they hit the circuit? I have to burn some plastic and waste engine oil first. Its Daily Mail readers I feel sorry. Imagine their dilemma - do we support the cyclists or the people stopping the cyclists?
And it's pony too.Personally speaking I'm saying they should f-off.
It's a pointless protest carried out by self-aggrandising attention seekers role playing at protesting. 'Stop Oil' is just the latest craze to afflict the minds of gullible middle-class university goers with too much spare time on their hands.
This is just my opinion of course.
