From the bits I saw she looked pretty fluid and on top of the gear. Maybe had more time to ride the course and work out the gearing?

Good cos if she missed out on a bronze medal by 2 seconds after flapping around on her bike like she normally does in itts on stage races, she would be rightly gutted imo.

What's the point of the mix relay? It's only purpose seems to be giving riders crashes before their big objectives later in the week, and I don't think I'm a unique in not watching or following it, and therefore being totally unaware that reusser crashed. Its a mickey mouse gimmick?

It's purpose was to stop the bigger trade teams winning the TTT all the time, and boost participation of the women in the event, as very few women's pro teams had the resources to take part, some were just turning up riding their road bikes.

And it allows nations with enough riders to field different mixed teams to the ITT, obviously the smaller nations suffer fielding the same riders in both, but no system is perfect.

It's a fun event, when done well. But to do it on the course of the road race was just ridiculous. If ever there was course not suited to a TTT it was this one.
