World Championships 2024 - Men’s TT, September 22

It was closer than i tought it would be at T3. Probaly Remco had some difficulty pacing due to the faulty power meter, still only the 2 italians were faster than him in the last sector, which brings me to another insane performance by Affini, what a month he is having.

One of the most exciting TT finishes in a while.

Remco is just incredible, at 24 he is already one of the best TT riders of this century, Olympic champion and now double World Champion this time with some dramaat the start. If he wins the road race next Sunday he will manage to do something truly unique in cycling.

Ganna also deserves a lot of praise, I feel some people have been underestimating him a bit lately but on these one day TTs, he is the only one that comes close to Remco.

Affini's third place is a surprise, even though he won the Europeans, this was a much harder course which shouldn't have suit him as well but maybe a bit of motopacing made up for that.

Asgreen and Foss with some very solid rides and as for Vine, he was doing the TT of his life but once again his techincal limitations prevented him from doing better. Hope that he has no broken bones.

No reason for the Swiss to celebrate either, Küng disappointing in the biggest stage once again and Bissegger is just not made for these long hard TTs. Expected more from Roglič too.

Finally a World about Tarling, few people would have imagine that he wouldn't get any medal in major Championships this season but if in the Olympics he can blame lady luck here he was just too slow and showed that he is still far from Ganna and Remco's level in these long hard TTs.

I mentioned Cancellara as well, who probably is the GOAT of ITTs.

But Martin is still one of the best TT:ers of all time and a part of the conversation. 4 WCs and 50 wins in the discipline means he is definitely up there.

How you laugh at that makes no sense.
Put everyone who is "part of the conversation" in a race, all in top shape, he won't make the top 5, except on a Doha style course.
