The Italian Cycling Federation itselfThe provisional start list shows Persico as starting in the mixed relay and not Realini. Is there any source for that because I don‘t believe that.

Cattaneo has to be fed up with doing all this donkey work at this poijntCattaneo will join them for the Mixed Relay
Would be much appreciated. Looking forward to Seixas vs AWP almost as much as the Pog show in the men’s elite race.Slightly off-topic, but would anyone be interested in a humongous preview post for the juniors like I did last year?
Nah, it's politics making the right teams with the right staff members happy.Italian cycling federation following my advice to never work sober, it's bad for your mental health
Men's road race team is just an assortment of dudes, love it. No leader, no plan, just vibes
When you don’t have a viable top 5 favourite the EF Tour de France chuck everything at the wall and see what sticks approach is actually quite sensible. No point asking any of these riders to sacrifice for the others. Just try to be present in every move and stay ahead of the big favourites for as long as possible to snag a result.Men's road race team is just an assortment of dudes, love it. No I completely agree, no Italian rider is good enough to be a leader, you just have to go for it and try something different. It's not intended as a slight on Bennati, it's the best approach. When you don’t have a viable top 5 favourite the EF Tour de France chuck everything at the wall and see what sticks approach is actually quite sensible. Interesting—I used to think Italy was one the teams that went into World’s with united approach and clear goals. But maybe that was just ‘cause Nibali?Men's road race team is just an assortment of dudes, love it. No leader, no plan, just vibes
Nibali greatness truly did unite everyoneI used to think Italy was one the teams that went into World’s with united approach and clear goals. But maybe that was just ‘cause Nibali?
Same as it ever was....Men's road race team is just an assortment of dudes, love it. No leader, no plan, just vibes
Happened in 2019 with Trentin as well, and also last weekend with Milan. Italy are usually strong tactically there's just nobody to be strong for this time around.Interesting—I used to think Italy was one the teams that went into World’s with united approach and clear goals. I mean, Frigo was good at the Vuelta, working for teammates who turned out to be weaker than him in breakaways. What a joke , take useless guys like frigo and bagioli but will not send Fausto masnada who is actually a big rider with versatile high qualities
In the last decade the cracks where already showing, with a small number of possible leaders and thus bettere unity. Back when italy where the top nation, collaboration was on and off, you had some masterpiece of tactics like Varese 2008 but also some BS like Lisbona 2001.If there's one thing Italy has done well for the past 10+ years is working as a team.
There was never a leader capable of winning at this level (and when there was, he crashed or had just cracked a vertebrae).
Yeah but why Realini if you want to make Trek happy? At least choose ELBNah, it's politics making the right teams with the right staff members happy.
Bettiol called Bennati (the coach of the team) and told him that his form was not good enough to be in the mix on this route. No Bettiol is almost as shocking as nobody having said it before me!
I will, thank you very much
And Americans are wondering why the organizers are using the first aid symbol. They are expecting many crashes ? 🤣I like the new race logo.
It's a big plus!
