It is indeed madness not to select Matthews. He's shown some real climbing chops over the last few years + has the pedigree and engine for long races + is clearly in top form after winning the two Canadian classics + he's Australia's only truly elite one day racer. Add to that his recent worlds record.....

In comparison, Schultz got in a couple of breaks in the Veulta......

So stupid. Reminds me of when everyone on the Aust team voted to ride for Gerrans in 2009, except Evan's roommate (Clarke) who abstained from the vote.

It is pure insanity not to select Matthews in his current form. Surely there are some personal problems in the background.

Womens junior Britt Knaven (NED) seems to be on an australian painted pinarello with Sky written on it.
So shes using Ritchie Porte's old bike....

Yeah, many juniors use pro teams' hand-me-downs.
Kazakhi Kurnossova appears to be using an old Astana Shiv.
Polish Jaskulska is wearing a Sky KASK helmet.

Most of the men's team bikes should be too large but I guess Richie Porte is about the size of an average woman :p

Anyone knows why the RR schedule has been changed, so the juniors (men and women) share Thursday, the U23 men has Friday on their own, and the elite women has Saturday on their own?
I mean… I'm not complaining; this way we avoid the dreaded "Dead Thursday".

Just lovely to see how happy all 3 podium finishers were... The hot seat clip of them finding out they got a medal, one after the other, was amazing

And how genuinely pleased they seemed for each other.

U23 TT is tomorrow, might be just as spectacular as todays TTT as there doesn't seem to be an overwhelming favourite. I'd be surprised if anyone other than Kamna, Bjerg, McNulty and Affini won, but it could be real close between those four. Course isn't *that* tough, but it sure isn't flat.

For me Bjerg is for sure a overwhelming favourite. I think its hard to see anyone within 30 seconds of him. The only one that has a chance to beat him is Kämna I think, but he would have to be back to his 100% best to have a chance and that seems quite doubtfull so soon, but you never know. I also think Norsgaard and perhaps De Bod will challenge for the other 2 medals.
I think 1. Bjerg, 2. Kamna, 3. McNulty, all within +/- 15 seconds of one another.

That would be my top 3 guess too in the same order. Bjerg sounds very confident though and I still think he will win with a clear margin at least to McNulty while Kämna could perhaps get closer.

Yeah I hate how television shows time gaps at any moment of the race.

It weakens part of the charm of watching the discipline.

Agree. The suspense while waiting for riders to appear into view is a big part of what makes time trials fun to watch.
