That's why the suspense should be multiplied with good (not too many, not too few) amount of intermediate points, where you can wait for riders to appear.

Eritrean Habtom has to start on his road bike, and late to boot, because the UCI found an issue with the measurements of his TT bike at the last minute

Bjerg is ridiculous, also big props to Van Moer. I knew he was a good TTer, but this came as a surprise.
According to De Cauwer, Van Moer only recently started doing ITT's so his progression may not be so strange in that regard. Very good race, he'll be delighted with silver.
