I wonder if the BinckBanck Tour will feature more LBL-like races to attract more climbers to the race.

Sagan after winning his third title in Bergen will change during the winter to a climbing goat and easy win this race.
If not during the winter, then after PR. :D
Mark my words.

I think everyone are after a streak of very bad to mediocre Worlds starting from 14

The best course in twenty years. It's a bit weird that the final isn't a lap, so it will be more like a tough Vuelta stage in the middle mountains.

How does Landa do on short, steep climbs? I think Majka will have great odds with this route, Alaphillipe as well, and of course Valverde if he recovers well.

Dan Martin has to be among the favourites if he targets it, you'd think. He always goes well in the longer hilly races.

Quite well in form actually. Landa should definitely be one of the favourites, but I think it depends on what GT's the best climbers will race. Landa will probably do Giro + Tour, then Worlds and Lombardia. Maybe thats too much. Those riders that are only riding 1 GT for GC should have a pretty much advantage I think, kinda like Nibali in 2016 - Tour for GC, then Vuelta as 100% prep. I feel that would be the best prep for this route, or even better obviously, Giro GC + Vuelta prep.

If Italy play their cards right they have a great chance of winning. Set a high pace on early climbs to reduce the field. Nibali attack on penultimate climb forcing other riders to expend energy chasing. Then, depending on whether or not Nibali is still ahead, Aru could attack on final climb as he's good on the steep stuff.

(I know this is a year away but still I'm excited :D )

Italy will have a strong team for this race, but they're not the main favorites, or at least not the only one. Spain and Colombia will also have very strong teams. France too.

He was the only one able to follow Gallopin in San Sebastian this year so he's pretty good at it I guess.

It looks somehow similar to Rio. I wouldn't be surprised to see again Nibali and Majka, hoping no crash happens this time

This now needs to be good. Bergen was a good advert for the place and had lots of fans, etc, but the racing was a total bummer.

Chaves, Betancur and co are going to go berserk, while Quintana marks anything that moves

The Colombians will cause a massacre...

Innsbruck will be significantly harder than Rio. Maybe if the weather is completely perfect it'll be easier. I believe Rio had 3000m of climbing. So Innsbruck SHOULD be harder, but maybe the final climb will scare riders.

Bergen was just sooo good, if we count out blackout of tv-signal for the last couple of k's. Proper hard race that was!

It was awesome.
Truth is, the men's elite RR was probably the least attractive and quite anticlimactic (+ epic fail by Norway's TV coverage during the last 2km) which I frankly wasn't even surprised about. I kinda expected the bunch sprint and calmed down my hype before the WCH...

No. Hence the thread :p

I thought it was mostly for discussing the route, and who might be favourites. I want it to be now!
I want every race to be now! Is that too much to ask?

You shouldn't forget Rio was on a 5 men teams, which makes the race significantly harder.

It's an interesting scheduling suggestion, but I can't see the UCI going for it.

i dont know what to look forward to more:

small chance that we will see actuall racing or the mental image of many of you with a look of disbelief on your faces once it will inevitably turn out to be just another "wait for last climb then halfass an attack" race with a group of 25 finishing

Someone should've been fired for that epic fail of a TV coverage.

Even the replay of the final moments took forever to come through.
