What the hell does that mean? Juan Tito Rendon is of the same age and he doesn't do anything but racing in Europe.
And because he does it all other teenagers aiming to become pro cyclists should spend half the year away from their parents on the other side of the world as well?
Didn't know you guys would get so riled up about this. I would like a world champion to race against the best in the best races, rather than just one. You don't. Big deal.

You can create the thread yourself if you want to rather than complain here.

Lol, this is the junior category. So what that he outclasses guys from the same age (and a year younger)? He trains twice a day, that's probably more than most of them. Combine that with amazing talent and this is the outcome. Don't forget he also played football on a high level that got him a very important muscle repertoire, unlike riders who just start riding a bike at 13 or 14 and start from scratch.

Let's see what he's worth among the pro's, where everyone trains super hard for it.

But go on, take it to the clinic ;)

This happens in sport sometimes, someone just being ahead of everyone else in physical development, especially since cycling isn't a skill sport on a fundamental level (in the details it's different). But I can't wait to see him in pro races.

Not only that, be he obviously spend a long time training at pro football clubs before he became a cyclist early development, he is obviously good, but lets wait a few years to see where he ends up

Didn't quite catch it, but did he dedicate the win to Decraene?
"It was a very long season for me, and this World Cup was the last race of the year. I worked so hard for all that, to perform here ... I absolutely wanted to be on top and have the best legs of my season in this World Cup. And that was the case! It's an incredible feeling! In addition, I thought a lot about Igor Decraene. A few weeks ago, I went to his village and talked to his parents. They told me that they had only one wish: to see me win. When I arrived in the home stretch I saw Igor's face ... It was like he was next to me. It was very moving."

so it's similar than what Leo Appelt would've been 2015 and McNulty 2016. Both would've been 4th on U23.

I just looked thourhg all the results of Junior WC TT results available on wikipedia, and no winner had even close to the gap Evenepoel had here, not even Cancellara.

edit: closest was Kämna with 44 seconds advantage.

You can make kinds of comparisons to put Evenepoels performance in perspective. Here is another one: When Bjerg won the U23 TT last year by more than a minute, he was only about two months older than Evenepoel.
