Re: Re:
It's the attitude, when he saw that he wasn't able to follow he likely didn't give a f**k, and that's the problem considering that after the horrible Giro he was still saying that he wanted to lead the team in Innsbruck. If in Innsbruck he'll see that he can't do anything and then jump off the bike it's a wasted spot.roundabout said:Nirvana said:Aru was second last yesterdaymovingtarget said:Mayomaniac said:Aru being confirmed for the Italian team is a bit annoying, I'd select him as a reserve and bring both Brambilla and Cataldo, one as an attacker and the other one as a workhorse if you need to set a high tempo on the Igls climb. Visconti instead of Brambilla would also be ok.
It's just a bit annoying that Aru gets a spot without even earning it, he even skipped the NC with the excuse of being sick or something like that.
On the other hand you have someone like Gasparotto who wasn't selected in 2013 or 2014, when he deserved it and was one of the few Italian riders who was able to get a good result in a hilly 250km one day race and in 2014 Ulissi wasn't even allowed to race, so not bringing Gaspa was a bit of a joke.
I think on that course Aru has to be included. He could be useful.![]()
He probably didn't even try to fight, at least try to ride like Nibali that with 65+ kms to go was already dropped by Androni pace but somewhat managed to return to the head on the race on the flat and even tried to attack in the finale and show that you have a bit of good will to do something.
who cares if he was second last or fifty-second last as for all intents and purposes he finished pretty much in the same group as 19th place
but, indeed he really should have made the main break
