Hmm. Obama states during the campaign hes been in 57 states. Lots and lots of mis-steps. He gets nothing but passes.

At the National Prayer meeting last week the teleprompter referred to army air corps men as "air-corpse men", not once, not twice but at least three times.

Again, if Bush had said that, what would your reaction be? See, I already know. We get it. Dems=smart (with plenty of room for error). Repubs=Stupid (unless they agree with dems on any given issue).

So please, don't say you have an open mind. You don't and neither do I.

It's a shining example of how the media shapes reality. For 8 years, they did nothing but harangue Bush about every and any mis-step, 24/7, from hundreds of media outlets.

Obama, on camera trying to open a locked door at the white house, lecturing us about conservation and cranking the heat up to 80 in the WH (cuz I'm from hawaii!), can't even read the words that someone wrote for him on his little prompter, when he's off the crutch he wanders aroundstumbling aimlessly like he can't form a coherent thought. And the media coverage of his ample faux pas? Nil.

And the sheep that populate forums like these are incapable of seeing through the obvious double standard because in both cases, it is what they WANT to believe is real as opposed to what IS real.

these posters are jokes, made all the funnier by their obliviousness to their hypocrisy and ignorance.

I don't think the 2012 primary's have started yet or did I miss something? The hysterics of the press have all but cannonized Palin to some on the right and you act surprised? Just keep talking about what an dolt she is and see what happens.

If your position is every dem is brilliant and every repub is an idiot then you are wrong. It's that simple. This tactic has so backfired for your side. Look at the struggles Obama has had. He is the saviour. The messiah. The chosen one. The post -racial, post-partisan healer of all trouble that cometh. He can talk to our enemies. He can heal the cultural divide. He can stop the earth from warming. Hope and change, baby. No democrat can possibly live up to the billing, so the very one's who put the dems in control will be, and are the one's eating them alive. Fun to witness.

Uh...YOUR party nominated her to be the VP candidate for a guy old enough to be my grandfather...and most people old enough to be my grandfather are dead. So don't give me this line about how I am making up something. Fact is that she is considered to be a viable candidate, and I while it is obvious that every Republican is not stupid, I would suggest that 85% are smarter than her. She is stupid, especially if that IQ test YOU posted is legitimate.

The funniest part about your rant about Obama is that the savior, messiah crap is REPUBLICAN PROPAGANDA. Show me where he ever said he was those things. Show me where I did. Show me where anyone here did. That is just propaganda meant to obfuscate the point that YOUR party has done NOTHING but complain and obstruct in the past year, and it appears only to obstruct a PERSON they don't like.

Again, come to the table on health care and let the American people hear what you have to say. YOUR party talks a big stick talk all the time. Now, lets see if they are chicken hawks like Cheney, or whether Cantor, and the merry "No" crowd have the BALLS to actually do something constructive. Fact is that Obama called your party out on working on things, and all I hear is how he won't work with you. YOUR party is a joke right now, and it will catch up with you. In fact, just look at the headlines this week, and you will see that you are getting called out and have NOTHING to back up the things you were called out on. Maybe they should have stayed home instead of going to ribbon cuttings for programs they take credit for and didn't have the BALLS to vote for. What I see right now is a party of cowards who hide behind propaganda and NOTHING else of substance.

I don't think Obama is the messiah at all...not at all...I didn't even vote him via the primaries...to me, he is a dead centrist ala Clinton...I knew he was nothing else...but he beats the last repug president by a mile, who was a complete corporate plaything, not even in control...and still I am disappointed via Obama...listen, just because the fox freaks and rupugs right call him a socialist, do your own intellectual math man...no socialist would bail out wall street...

Exactly, but the PROPAGANDA spewed by the REPUBLICANS has now become what we were saying? Yea, that is how lies and propaganda work.

Remove Obama and insert Bush in that photo and you guys lose your minds. Hypocricy laced with double standards? Yup.

I want to hear either Scott or ravens answer to why their party is showing up in pictures with checks for projects hey voted against?

Why does Palin make stupid, snarky comments about teleprompters when she has to write simple concepts on her hand so she won't forget? Not to mention the revelation that she had to call Todd if there was any serious issue in Alaska.

Why does Tancredo, a person who was vying for the Republican nomination for president, race bate at a tea bagging rally?

Why, when the president is trying to get your party to come to the table and talk, are your leaders doing nothing but avoiding committing to the dialogue?

Why is it when Rush calls someone a "genius," Palin gets all creamy in the jeans and excuses it as sarcasm when PLAINLY by any listening, he was using the same term the EXACT same way as Rahm?

Why is it that Republicans are parading around talking about Miranda rights for terrorists, when under Bush's reign, they did the same thing for Reid? And contrary to Newt's big lie, Reid is not and never has been an American citizen.

Why is it that regardless of what Obama does, YOUR party will not work with him on anything? Nothing. Not one thing. Zilch. Nada. Is it because you are so blinded by your party affiliation that you don't care if our country suffers? Don't answer, I already know.

Oh, and why is one of your Senators holding up confirmation hearings so that he can get PORK for his district?

You guys are having a bad week. Maybe sleep it off and come back next week.

Not paranoid, just amused at the double standard. The very thing that bothers you guys about Palin bothers me about Franken. Yet you defend Franken and villify Palin.

You guys either see the double standard and don't care (which is fine by me) or you don't see it (which I don't believe).

Either way it's amusing (to me).

Do you not get the fact that one is a SENATOR from Minnesota, and the other is currently (based on the poll numbers) the #1 Republican candidate for POTUS in 2012? There is a MAJOR difference. All you did was bring up someone you think is stupid to deflect the moronity (not a word) of Palin. That is all. Talk about straw man.

Call me crazy, I didn't realize running on a presidential ticket was the same thing as winning on one. Maybe she needs to get out there with Biden and do some joint appearances.

Unless you think everything posted on the internet is factual I don't think it's a great idea for your side to operate as if Palin's IQ is 83. Like I said, I can post one making her smarter than Einstein for about $70.

Are you really arguing that Obama supporters were not waayyyy over the top during the campaign and even immediately after the election? I mean, Chris Mathews alone goes a long way to proving my point.

I don't oppose Obama because he's a bad guy. I oppose Obama's policies. Centrist? Not so much. Cap and trade, and national healthcare are not centrist positions. And please don't argue that Obama, if left un-fettered, would not nationalize heathcare this instant.

Don't get real carried away with how much of a joke the Repubs are. The mid-terms are not very far away and many are predicting an extremely poor showing from the left. When Boxer and Reid are in trouble then you can bet somethings in the air.

There are corrupt Repub poltical whores. It's a shocker. Kinda like Ben Nelson denouncing the purchase of his healthcare vote for the State of Nebraska. Plenty of that to go 'round.

So you're ok with the teleprompter in a grade school class setting? But crib notes on the palm of a hand while giving a speech is just so indicitive of someone's intelligence quotient.

Is this your position?

Propaganda mostly.

I really, really hated the way the Bush admin/repub congress spent money like there was no tomorrow. I didn't agree much with Bush fiscally except cutting taxes because there is mountains of evidence of how much this helps economically.

I think the war was a mistake but cut a little slack because of the frame of mind. I think 9/11 freaked W out (along with a lot of other people). He overreacted, however it's just so easy to second-guess now that we have accurate information regarding stated reasons for going to war.

The prescription drug plan was yet another entitlement we could not afford. Really bad idea. W did not pull out his veto pen until very late in his Presidency. Then there is TARP and all of that.

I have plenty of things I did not appreciate or approve of regarding the previous administration.

The spending, in particular the prescrip drug plan which is as much of a problem for medicare already as the rest of medicare, was horrible. He signed McCain/Feingold pretty early and that eviscerated the 1st amendment. I believe he did so thinking that the sup ct would overturn, which they did not. Those things are the sort of politics that drives would be repub voters away in hordes. There already is a democrat party. No need to run around like one in drag. tarp was a joke, I think again, he didn't have the political will especially that late in the second term.

As for the reaction to 9/11, the overarching doctrine is just unsustainable in the long term, but the short term reaction was not enough, imo. The road out of this islamofascism goes through Tehran. It's never going to stop until that is dealt with and based on the news lately, it is going to be dealt with militarily, one way or the other. thank God we have a president that stands up for citizens oppressed by tyrants!

Tax cuts in this thread are about as popular as Palin, but infinitely more guaranteed to help the economy. The dems just hate it when the citizens get between the State and their money.

I didn't read past that point. They are not my party. I have only said it in about 5 threads that you have responded to.

I don't know if Scott is a republican or not, and even if he is, I don't expect anyone who is a member of either party to defend every single thing their party does. But intellectual dishonesty seems to come with those who are ideologically aligned with the left. You embarrass yourselves when you carry their water blindly.

Your lust for political power and control blinds you to your own good senses.

Scott...so what was your problem with the medicare prescription plan under Bush? I have a problem with it as well..the problem was this: that the government could not negotiate prices for durgs...THAT is why is was a ***** giveaway to bush's buddies...he and your repugs fought for that...to pay them full price...rather, a dem would have negotiated...like with those commie VA folks ect ect...but your boys upheld their corporate reach arounds...got to give where it is given, Yes?

I think we'd all benefit from stepping back a bit, taking a long, hard, careful look at both parties. I would bet that most people would realize that neither party represents the interests of the people, but rather the interest of a select few who bankroll their political ambitions.

I voted for Obama, and frankly, I'm thoroughly disappointed in him so far. His remarkable aptitude for campaigning has failed to translate into any sort of ability to govern. Granted, he's not the failure Bush was or McCain/Palin would have been but that's like saying things aren't bad in the US because we have a higher standard of living than Rwanda.

ravens said:

And your specialty is trolling and baiting and trying to provoke a response that you can then attack. You do this by wanting to only bitch about what is wrong with everything without ever coming up with any sort of realistic workable suggestion for what might help. "Get rid of government, let the rich keep all their money. Things will then magically be A-ok."
