You just can't help it..They must have the streets wired with a direct feed from Rush and Beck and it just soaks in through osmosis..At least you try to deny it.

The gas bomb is 8000 ft down. Those diesel generators running 24/7 are sure annoying though.. 600ft is the law and the one I hear is over a mile away..

Dude I was just having some fun at your expense. Sorry about that.

Did you even take note / read the links I gave about the natural gas shale? It is not so much the 8000 feet but more the process and trouble it can cause in the water and life of the people who live above it.

I was in Dallas a little after she passed away, and it was apparent talking to people she was deeply missed, and a genuine Texan indeed.

Here in Italy we have a crisis on the island of Lampedusa, which is the closest to Tunisia. Thousands of refugees are arriving by sea to escape the miserable existence they had in the Maghreb, pushed further to exasperation as a result of the current military and political crisis.

It's a rough and risky voyage, theirs, on small, overcrowded single prop boats. If it goes well it's only a couple of days without food and water. If not, you don't make it.

There are more from the Maghreb on Lampedusa now than there are Lampedusans. The island is in chaos, the locals are themselves on the brink of emotional collapse, while the filthy camps of refugees wallow in their misery waiting to see if the Italian state will give them asylum, or conduct them to other places in Europe.

For Italy's part, it asks more help in controlling the waters of the Med between North Africa and the Boot, but there is bickering among the protagonists in Brussels.

But then, then...there he is, Captain Silvio (Berlusconi)! The Knight arrives just in time to save the day. Its pure phantom politics, but we're used to hearing his big promises and sweeping resolutions, which normally amount to nothing but who cares.

The Italian premier has even told the Lampedusans that he is "one of them", having recently bought a villa, his 29th, on the island and within 60, maximum 90 hours, all will be well again. Like some JFK pronouncement "ich bin ein Berliner," only not rendering a private identity a universal status, but a common belonging a private affair. So be it.

But in this throughly grotesque and comical moment within the tragedy, we succinctly can see everything that's wrong with human society. One man owns 29 villas, while thousands not only can't afford even one, but have to risk their lives just to find "hope" among the injustices that an entire elite minority of internal and external forces has forced upon them: like the pawns to be sacrificed in a chess game played in the interests of the ruling cast.

While all the while the West thinks what's best for its oil interests and the Middle East what suits its evolving balance of power, and we are all simply reminded by this simple fact that, despite all the so called gains that democracy and the free market have given us, there are just as many imbalances and injustices that have been created.

Silvio may not resolve the crisis, but he has allowed us to see where it all really begins.

Some of you with Face Book accounts might be interested in the debates going on at Armchair Army (Virtual march 26th March 2011) in your FB search.
A lot of people here in the UK are "new" to the fact that "something" is fundementaly flawed and exactly what that is the source of much disagreement. But that "something" remains regardless of the contankerousness of debate. Always its the "Elephant In The Room"...which can only lead to the conclusion that whatever it is we`d do well to learn fast!

The idea of the group is to spread news and understandings and perspectives and ideas for non violent forms of protest.
Im of the view the issues are International and need an international understanding and responce from the silent majority ( or should that be silenced?) and I think your inputs could be of interest. Im always dismayed how so many peeps here in the uk think every " average joe" American isnt "aware" and it`s a myth that needs dispelling.

It is NOT affiliated in any way to any organisation and is open forum. Any way , nuff said...hope a few take a look and maybe add a few views if enclined.
Cheers dudes

Someone left a pretty good comment there, wondering how we as a nation went from Barbara Jordan to Sarah Palin.

As that may be viewed as a party thing, how about I ask HTF the GOP went from people like Nancy Kassenbaum and Margaret Chase Smith, to Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman?

Tell them that Americans who know these things, know that America is a country built on the redemption of the human garbage of the world.

The Republican's refer to the "wretched refuse" as bums.

The true believers know that where there is life there's hope and that the Statue of Liberty is a symbol of the aspirations and hopes and dreams of EVERYONE.

Fox, Rush, Savage, Bortz etc are good answers but to be more specific it is the rise of Hate promoted by these people that gives us the Palins and Bachmanns.
They are the new century's kinder gentler Ku Klux Klan. Where David Duke changed to a suit from a Klan robe the new republicans claim to have shed church choir robes for political attire. They have no good ideas about anything but they are well versed in HATE and bigotry.

Thank You Phil Gramm (R-TX-UBS)

""Arab Banking Corp., a lender part- owned by the Central Bank of Libya, used a branch in New York to borrow at least $5 billion from the U.S. Federal Reserve as credit markets seized up in 2008 and 2009.

The bank, then 29 percent-owned by the Libyan state, drew $1.1 billion from the Fed’s so-called discount window in October 2008, including $450 million during the week when hundreds of financial firms drew a record amount of emergency funding from the U.S lending program, according to data released by the Fed today. Arab Banking Corp. also owed about $4 billion to the Fed under other bailout programs in the fall of 2009, data released in December show. ""

yeah David Duke falls in step with some from both sides. He says that the Holocaust Never happened and he is convinced that Dem deer Jews and illegals / legal immigrants in the United States are controlling everything. What a classic Asshat. I wish he would burst into flames and I ran by....I would splash gasoline on his ***.
