Degenkolb for the hills is a good safe bet and he does a lot of lead outs at HTC.

did he? for whom? I can't remember him doing not even one leadout this season.

that could be one problem in the german team, I think it may be difficult to combine individual forces

I dunno if Degenkolb has done much leading out, but he's a great option for a hard race ending in a sprint. Then again Kittel has looked extremely fast this year. Who to take? On Greipel's lead out though, prolly the tried and trusted Sieberg.

Or AG and JD might attack, leaving MK in the bunch to try his luck vs. Cav.

Kevin De Weert, Philippe Gilbert, Olivier Kaisen, Björn Leukemans, Klaas Lodewyck, Nick Nuyens, Jurgen Roelandts, Greg Van Avermaet, Johan Vansummeren (reserves: Jan Bakelants, Thomas De Gendt, Nikolas Maes, Jurgen Van de Walle, Sep Vanmarcke)

Belgium have a strong team. I just hope if it comes to a sprint GVA/ Roelandts could do something. Germany have a very strong team, the only problem is who will lead out Griepel. Wagner could but ideally you would want Ciolek, Kittel, Wagner then Degenkolb leading out Greipel. Degenkolb for the hills is a good safe bet and he does a lot of lead outs at HTC.

For Australia i am surprised by the fact we have no Cameron Meyer in the ITT and also Leigh Howard in the RR. I have no idea who i would replace for him but Leigh could probably up the pace a notch before the end or even be the last lead out man for Goss. The fact he is at HTC and works with Goss would have helped as well.

I think Spain have a strongish team. Flecha will be a good road captain and Rojas is a good alternative for the sprint. The problem is does Oscar have the legs after abandoning the Vuelta and who can lead him out to the standard of other countries.

The Dutch team can hopefully be attacking and maybe set up Lithgart in a late race break.

Hmm are Degenkolb or Kittel tested on longer classics like MSR? I guess Degenkolb did well in P-R this year so he should be good, but im not so sure about kittel. I'd say Ciolek should lead out Greipel with Degenkolb and Sieberg there to help him. Greipel should have a really good chance at winning this World Champs I think.

At the moment I would have Greipel as my favourite to win.

Degenkolb and Howard did leadouts for each other in Poland and the Vuelta, but with those two it's sort of like the blind leading the blind.

okay, thanks, I didn't see him leading out Howard at the vuelta (or better said I didn't see him at all those days) but both sprints Howard participated in were quite confusing, that may be the reason

That's odd. Quinziato said on his twitter that he was confirmed for the team at Copenhagen.

"Happy and proud to have been selected for the worlds! Being part of italian national team is a dream coming true!"

Quinziato is a good helper, but paolini and tosatto are more than enough! I like the team, all of them are really fast, and in a small break there is high probability to win!
I'm only a bit disappointed for the absences of Marcato and Ponzi.

Depressingly, for the win I am now leaning toward the stocky manx elephant in the room.

He has won MSR, and he beat Gilbert in an uphill sprint at the Tour. Having looked at the course analysis someone linked, it doesn't seem so hard.

Plus the Sky boys will work their Adidas off to get the jersey on the team.

That Tour sprint was only about 1.4 %. So you could also say Cav was almost beaten by Gilbert on an only slightly uphill finish. Geels bakke in Copenhagen is 540 m @ 4.0 % average.

I haven't seen proper sprinting from Boom in a long time though that might be just me. Ligthart has been more prominent in that regard which means that he gets the lead out for me in such a scenario.
And today Boom wins an uphill sprint in Great-Brittain against own teammate Matthews and a whole ****load of Sky + cavendish

You were saying? ;)
