Apart from the wind what's the weather usually like in September in Copenhagen? I'm guessing it's a bit like Scotland. I need to know what to pack :)

Unpredictable is the key word. Can be warm and sunny with 20+ degrees or cold, windy and rainy.

These last few days has been about 15-17 degress with a mix of showers and sun but quite windy. But the weather here changes fast. But ye probably a bit like Scotland. So pack for the unpredictable (0;

. I didn't explain that well, but while there are few 300km races, it doesn't take a special kind of character to win them. I hope I wrote what I meant

A lot of riders and ex-rider talk alot about the fact that often something special happens with your legs beyond those 250km. Som rider just fall apart when it gets super long. IIRC Jalabert didnt like those super long races.

Have you ever been to Copenhagen? Can be windy as hell. Besides it's not exactly downtown, more outside in the suburbs.

yes I've been and there are houses everywhere and no long open wide roads except bridges that aren't on the course I believe.

I'm asking myself, when UCI will reduce the distance to 220 or 200km? What is so wrong about 280 or 290 km like the last world road races in Copenhagen?

But the road race wont be in downtown Copenhagen but 15km north of the city in the subs. So it defn can be windy there but its not the most exposed area in the country either.

But for the record I live in Copenhagen and it can be windy as hell even downtown. Esp when the wind is pressed and forced through the streets, meaning that it can be quite in some spots and extremly windy in other spots.

yes but that's not working for a peloton, wind need to be steady on oipen part for a long time, it doesn't even have to be that strong, copenhagen is wind all over the place but no time to rip a field apart I would say, I don't know about the suburbs though how it looks

I saw a forecast for strong westerly winds, probably too early to be certain what will happen though.

Any sort of wind would be good apart from a block headwind finish. TOB style Ex hurricane would be nice.

Could be on the long bridges to Amager, but thats not really relevant cos the RR wont take place in copenhaben but in the subs where the wind can be steady, except for part thats through the forrest. But that can actuelly cause havoc. I mean if u go through the forrest with no wind and then get out in the open with massive winds. But since the winds are often east/west and less often south/north and the course is mostly going east/west there might not be alot of crosswind. But lets see when we get the weatherforecast. Wind as an issue cant be ruled out as a non-factor for sure. Especially not considering it wont take place in Copenhagen it self.

That said the Road race will take place north of Copenhagen in the subs where the wind can be a factor despite the fact that its still populated area. And the see istnt that far away. Tbh there isnt really anywhere in Denmark where u can be safe from the wind. But lets see the weatherforecast before discussing it more. Might not even be a subject then (0:

While what you say is true, the area of the RR is relatively sheltered from wind, both by forests and buildings. I've ridden there many times and never experienced a strong enough wind to remember it now (but I hail from the North Sea, so maybe my perception of "strong wind" is different :D).
There are no really open parts of the course where echelons could form, except maybe the downhill between Gl. Holte and Nærum - and that's a downhill, so you probably won't see a selection there.

Are those numbers supposed to be climb ratings? A hamster's erection would be rated a Cat 2 climb on this course.

Maybe we'll get some winds to make the sprinters hurt.

The climbs are numbered 1-7, not rated that way.
Would be somewhat humorous with a system that rates 7>4<2.

Uhm, how stupid are you, seriously?? If a 1 is followed by a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 then what do you think these numbers are
