Question Would It be fatally dangerous to ride with this dent [Pictures]?

Hello fellow cyclists,


I have had a crash recently and there's a minor dent at the top tube. The manufacturer (Canyon) is telling me it'll take them 8 weeks to make an appointment for me to replace the frame.

I want to ask your opinion on whether do you think it would be dangerous to ride with this dent; I usually do hilly rides with a top speed of around 60kph.
Note that it is an aluminum frame and there are no cracks near. The bike is canyon endurace al 7.

Yes, it would be dangerous.

That dent could act as a 'hinge point' and result in the tube failing.
Whether that would (and under what circumstances) actually happen is a guess, but it is an obvious risk.

This frame is ***-ed, sorry. If it was steel, maybe it would be possible to fix it, but with alu you can forget it imo.

I wouldn't ride that bike down the street to the shop, let alone downhill at speed.

I have to agree with earlier posters the frame is no longer safe to ride, however, if you like me do not want a carbon frame I would replace that with a Titanium frame Terry Dolan's ADX is top-notch.
