This is terrible news for everyone involved in the world of cycling. It really makes me sad.

Rest in peace Wouter Weylandt.

Off topic:

Could anyone help me to fix the black Wouter-Avatar? I can't make it work so perhaps someone could send me a PM or just write how I should do in this thread?

Wouter Weylandt

This is a sad day indeed for Cycling. Whats even more tragic is the fact his partner is pregnant. I'm sure all the cycling community extend their sympathies to his family and friends.

This is tragic news to wake to this morning. I went to bed last night at the 35km to go mark, the crazy descent had started but I was unable to stay awake any longer, it would appear the crash happened moments later. I'm thankful that I didn't witness it really. My condolences to the Weylandt family and friends.

A Rising Star Extinguished

This is tragic. I was in the office following the Cyclingnews live feed of the race when the crash happened and when, 25 minutes later, the medics were still working on him as he was on the ground, I knew that something very serious had happened to Wouter Weylandt. I first read about him just after he became a pro and joined QuickStep and was being considered as a prospective Tom Boonen successor. Although he won stages in the Giro and the Vuelta I always thought that he would become a strong Classics man and he did come third in Gent-Wevelgem. A solid, powerful rider, he had a great future ahead. Cycling will miss him, but his family, friends and teammates even more. Condolences to all of them.

I can't remember the poem, but the first line is "May you always walk in sunshine...."

I saw the crash/aftermath on TV. I'm hoping I never see anything like that ever again.

Wouter, may you always walk in sunshine. RIP.
