They would have done like everyone else. Waiting for Cannondale to do the work not knowing Sagan didn't have the best day. 2:25 to Asterloza with 25km to go was every evidence of a peloton that had little control of what happend up front.

Gilbert said he could see Sagan was not on a good day at 50km to go. I don't think BMC were intending to wait, they just didn't seem to have the numbers.

So just finished watching the race (had to work until 20h30)

Weening :D loved seeing Descender's frequent pictures again.

Kreuziger was finally sublime again, haven't seen this Kreuziger for a looooong time. Also he's not called Kreuzinger people, it's Kreuziger.. ;)
Gilbert misjudged the new final. His sprint-everyone-out-of-your-wheel on the cauberg trick won't work anymore with the new final. Has to race this differently.

Blanco tried their best, good to see Nordhaug back. Mollema not bad after illness, but they were outshine by Weening :p

so happy for kreuziger! it was a great race with many opportunists out there.
Sagan showed he is human. gilbert's team was the weakest link because they could have tried bringing kreuziger back. He shouldnt have been allowed to be off the front with a gap that big. With the new course he needs at least a team mate to make sure he keeps the gap created on the cauberg in check on the flat section.
EBH should become a classics domestique for cancellara. I dont know whats up with him but I think he is very inconsistent in classics. In the WC he was on the podium and here he was today nowhere to be seen.
Valverde and gerrans both race smartly and also defensively. They shouldnt be called wheel suckers.

Flor im well aware about 2009 and 2011, but this is the future not the past and currently on top form imho CF will win, Contador is a Legend in cycling that is in the book's im not doubting that. Contador is always gonna be their or their abouts. Im not a huge huge fan but if he won in his usual attacking style id be very happy. I defo think he will win GT'S, just not this years TDF. If it was all for Wiggo again id make Contador fav on this course.:D

There's nothing sure yet that Froome will beat contador. God knows what, Froome can crash in LBL, or got some virus in Dauphene, or he made some stupid decision in one of the decisive mountain, then game over. So I would rather stop pretending with the 8 ball prediction and wait until July to see the real battle. I won't count out Contador yet until the fat french lady finish singing..:p At least if Contador is going to loose he'll go down swinging hard!. And we will be treated with a great cycling battle.

Wasn't it just the TV coverage that made it seem boring, we had little idea of what was happening in the Peleton late on, such as Sagan failing etc.
AGR is just a crap race, always been, always shall.

Only exciting part was when Gilbert was involved in that crash at 70K to go.

Somehow sad Amstel is now history again, and soon the Ardennes and these last spring races will be, too.
As cycling and its calendar mirror the year and its passing like no other sports does, it also has a lot to do with moods, and so on.
This year it was really unlikeable, with this long winter, cold from November to mid April, than few (like this Amstel) nice races, leading into a maybe cool and short summer, and then it´s over again for everyone, like it is already over for Andy Schleck, who he so "great" and brave to issue in April 2013 that his year result-wise is over/is not going to happen, and he´ll be back for 2014... ;)

In Greek two consecutive gamma's are pronounced as 'ng'.

Are you saying Phil Liggett is Greek? I always thought that he is just an old senile fart and that was the reason for calling him KreuziNger. He is the one who started pronouncing Roman as "KreziNger". Obviously Paul will repeat everything after Phil and somehow others picked up on it too. Even today on Eurosport I heard KreuziNger many times. Go figure
