The UCI said on July 30 this year that it would side with the AFLD and not allow Riccò to race for 24 months, meaning he could not return until July 18, 2010. The UCI had decided that the CONI lacked jurisdiction when it issued its 20-month suspension.

So I was right that it was overturned at one point. I was sure I read that, and indeed I had. It's hard to keep up with all these different decisions overturning the last decision.

It's good though, it will make next years tour more interesting if he the organisers allow him in. I suppose there must be a question mark over that.

his ban was cut short due to his co-operation with italian authorities , so may 2010 is correct , which means the giro is a possibility.

Yes I knew that happened, but that decision was overturned again in the summer. Then that decision was overturned by the UCI.

he wont be in france in july due to the teams he has signed for not his ban

Bummer.

More Sprocket disinformation.
Riccardo Ricco signed a contract with Ceramica Flaminia, to begin March 10, 2010.
So, he'll ride the Giro, instead of your love object, but would be very unlikely to get a Tour wildcard.

However, I see other posters have already jumped all over this error.

This is sort of a different issue now, but there is a bit of mythology about that. They orginally thought they were going to get a wildcard and were training for the Giro as normal. Contador had only been only holiday for two days when he was called back. It sounded better than it was.
How could Astana be training as normal when they were left off the original list in February, they were not included in the Giro line-up until May. (you can do the math!).

Contador had dental work 2 weeks prior to being informed of the teams Giro participation. He was a complete week off the bike because of the dental problem.

You're his dentist now as well, huh? Oh dear.

You guys are just looking for anything after I successfully proved LA hadn't ridden a ToF for four years. You just can't handle the Sprocket being right.

You're just going to have to deal with it - the Sprocket is right about a lot of things. :D

I gotta admit, Sprocket is funny in a Fr.Dougal McGuire(Check out wikipedia if you dont know) or Inspector Clouseau kinda way, comedy gold.

And the TdF sure "Went to Hell in a HenBasket" during his absence good grief:(

Good thing Lance has come back to REHABILITATE the sport!

Maybe Radioshack can hire Rassmussen and put him back on the straight&narrow:)

Just not anything related to cycling and math.
Inspector Closeau, pmcg? Close...maybe Inspector Clueless.;)
Certainly makes me grin.

So, what are you going to do in a couple of year's time, when, as a fortysomething, he finally cycles off into the sunset?
Disappear, without a trace, is my guess.
Leaving the rest of us to enjoy the rather tasty Tours, in peace.

Almost everything you say is wrong. Your last post accuses me of an error I didn't claim. You're all over the place.

Definitely in the lower rankings.

Huh?

Everyone accepted it was correct ages ago. That's why they went down all these other roads to try to catch me out. That's not in dispute anymore. I'm afraid you may have to go down to Mellow Velo's rankings at this rate.

Sprocket01 is mentally ill. Meaning that there is a chemical imbalance in his brain that has no cure. The sooner you guys see that and ignore him, the sooner threads like this will cease to exist.

Is there a Mandatory Retirement age in Pro Cycling?

Can Lance ride until he is 65?

But I think Lance will retire for good once the Gene-Dopers start appearing.

No fun for a Truly Genetically-Gifted Rider to compete against fake ones:(
I just hope he does not turn bitter like the some pre-EPO dopers have...

yeh.. i object to that.. as someone who has a psychological illness im not sure i want to be compared to sprocket thanks very much..

Franck Bouyer who was struck down with an illness 3 years ago is on the comeback trail. His rehabilitation drug was on the banned list so he couldn't compete therefore he retired temporarily. He's now back and ready to race. On Page 28 of December 2009 ProCycling magazine Franck commented on Lance's comeback.

He stated: "At the age of 35, I was afraid I that I might be right off the pace but that hasn't been the case. I've been able to follow but I've haven't enjoyed the experience. I've never been in a position to win. But I wasn't expecting a miracle."

he goes on to say in reference to Armstrong:

"He's out for three and half years, comes back, breaks his collarbone, but he then takes on the Giro and finish on the podium at the Tour. I don't know what to make of that! But what did reassure me at the Vuelta was seeing Vinokourov blowing up. After two years suspension, he's not the same rider."

Well said Franck looks like you're one of the only ones in the peleton to tell it like it is. Or at least say what everyone is thinking.

Yeah good to have someone giving the nod to Armstrong's legendary abilities. When you look at how these other riders faired it shows you how great LA did this year. But that's the difference between these other guys and someone who won seven tours in a row. Vino was openly blood doping and couldn't get close.
