So humid today. I was drenched in sweat. Still a lot better then North Queensland with Cyclone Yassi set to hit, with wind gusts of up to 300km/h. This has to be a sign, right?

Torrential rain in melbourne tonight. Flooding across the state. Humid conditions and my place had rain coming through the roof. Quite scary! So many roads are closed down. My suburb had 80mm of rain in the past two hours.

We have had the wettest summer in 100 years. The weather systems of the tropical north's wet season have been affecting us in SE Australia, despite the distance. Doesn't feel like we have had a summer at all. :'(

Are those the Tehachapis?.

No not even. That is Mt. Lukens above La Crescenta, it is about 4900 ft high. It will get this frosting when it rains and is under 40F in the Crescenta valley, usually melts off by the end of the day except on the northern slopes. If I didn't have a sore throat right now I would be riding my MTB in the snow instead of killing time on CN forum.:(

Our weather today, low 40s, beautiful sun, but windy....gusts up to 50mph or so. yuk. Yesterday was a super riding day, and looks like good to go for Tuesday and weds...low 50s and sunny. ...hope no wind.

Hugh J...I have done a bit of mtb around LaTuna years ago when my brother lived in the Valley...nice area.

Yeah I thought you lived in that area. 250 miles puts you in Bakersfield. I'm only 30 miles below the border. I used to ride El Prieto behind JPL,Chantry Flats and Marshall Canyon out by San Dimas. And my road bikes on the San Gabriel River Bike Path down to Seal Beach from Alhambra

OK 195 miles, so sue me.:D
Actually that last pic wasn't even the top of Lukens but rather the western ridge below the peak. Here it is.
