A plea from the weary.

Krebs, I have a confession to make.

Originally, I found your posts to be a curiosity; intriguing even.
Then I grew envious with each postcard sunset.
But slowly, as winter began to take its toll on me, I came to view your incomparable vistas as nothing more than devious taunts, meant to inflict suffering on all those less fortunate, non-equatorial dwellers known as, "the rest of us."

However, as you can see below from what I have to look forward to in the coming days, and with no reason to believe that the following week will offer much respite, I must confess:

Your weekly, sometimes daily, posts are the only solace I have to cling to until Spring forces itself, inevitably, upon the Northeast.

So please, I implore you: Post, and post often. :)

Not exactly the tropics here. but warmer than where you are. This week looks highs in the mid 50's and lows in the low 40's. of course this about as cold as it gets
here's a couple of Sunsets for ya. I could take one just about everynight:eek:

Rosarito used to be quite the party town for the college students. You would pay like $15 for a bracelet that allow you to drink all day at that bar. The drug war turn this place into a ghost town for a couple of years but it is slowly improving. This area is about 10% American about 14,000.

Being close to the border doesn't effect price too much.

And yes a lot of people from the States have weekend condos, homes, and trailers here. There is great fishing, surfing and off-roading

The biggest draw back is it can take 2 hours waiting in line to cross the border back to the States

Hi Krebs, so what is the current status of things around there w/r to the 'drug war'? It is hard to get a handle through the media...it sounds not great in some parts of Mexico and seems like near the borders it would be rough depending on the area?...It sure seems to be having an effect on tourism and I would think also on the weekend and getaway travelers...just curious.
cheers, mew

This is not the place for a long discussion. but real quick the media make everything seem worse. If you are not law enforcement or a drug dealer things are pretty calm. the majority of killings are gangland executions. the crime rate in Rosarito was down 27% last year.
Now back to the weather:D

Thanks K!...oops I'm sorry I didn't mean to digress so blatantly.

WEATHER here is pleasant, 40s and sunny, the morning started out foggy and nippy---19*

looking forward to the next couple of days, 50s and sunny hopefully, with no wind...aargh---has been a windy month!
cheers, mew

I can hear, smell and feel the waves from this pic. Superb!

One question though, Krebs. Do you take requests? :D

How about this identical angle with a sunset? That would be the perfect compliment to this already-pristine setting. :)

that would be nice. I think the sun is setting too far north to get a good sunset now. mid-Dec to mid- Jan would do nicely though. The pic was taken from the front steps of my church on a Sunday Morning. Most of my pics are just from my front deck.:D
I'm on my way to sit on the deck now.

A Black-throated Magpie-Jay a few hundred miles from home. There were 3 of them in my eucalyptus tree.
