An weather guy on the news last night explained that we aren't experiencing something exceptional, but rather historical in terms of rainfall and lack of sun. We have gone over 6 months with only occasional glimpses of the sun, and the hills are continually shrouded by mist. It has been raining since yesterday noon (now morning here) and it doesn't look like it is going to stop anytime soon. A few weeks ago the street lights were on in the middle of the afternoon - that usually doesn't even happen in winter. No change is expected before early June at the earliest.

raining in southern New England. June has had more rain than March and April combined.

Glenn,
My father is heading up to Newfoundland for some salmon fishing this Saturday. He needs there to be plenty of water in the streams for the fishing to be good. How has your rainfall been?

It has been average acording to locals. Going to the West coast of NL? That is the place to go. They have had good rainfall / steady all season.

For me it is crazy because all it does is rain. Supposed to rain over the weekend until Sunday.

Not sure where. He goes Atlantic Salmon fishing there every year. Last year there wasn't enough water for the fish to swim in the river while he was there. I went once with him in 1974 on the St Marys River in Nova Scotia. I caught one fish then got bored and walked back to the camp. Only 3 salmon were caught the week I was there. I guess they are tough to catch. I wouldn't mind riding my bike there but fishing is too slow for me.
Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I know what you mean about the Salmon Fishing. It is tough to catch. Most of the guys here off shore get guided trips into either the west coast of NL or up inot Labrador. Labrador is remote. We went into there last year for Bear and Moose hunt. It was crazy fun.

There are many cyclist in St. John's. The roads are not great but are ok for cycling. Just so cold for me. I was spoiled cycling in Texas. Now it might as well be on the north pole.

Cry me a river as you are exploiting the earth's precious natural resources so that the greedy rich (meaning most North Americans) can run their vanity SUVs and further contribute to climate change.

In other news, Colorado is burning up - saw it on TV (France 2)

Yeah I saw that on the news yesterday even way up here on the CBN.

Hey not to scare you completly but my next assignment will be in Paris. More details to follow. I have to be over there no later than Nov. Apparently USA companies are not the only ones busy exploiting the earth's precious natural resources! :D

Yes we all did. It is almost a guarantee to get something. Me I'm not much of a trophy hunter but got the Bear and had it stuffed. I sent the thing to my Mom's. She absolutely was ****ed with me for killing it. :D

I smoothed it over with a box of Belgie Lambic Frambois Beer which for some reason is loved by all Females. ???? haha.
