Alpe, looks like Fallingwater ..beautiful!
Yes, it's a waterfall not too far from my home that's completely frozen. Here's the same falls looking down:

Pretty cold here too. High of 22 and a low of 11 (Farenheit, -4 and -12 Celsius). Makes me miss the rain of the Northwest.

MISS the rain of the US NW??? Masochist! GREY GREY GREY GREY. Followed by DARK GREY, with periods of LIGHTER GREY, misting, with spots of rain. AAAUUUUGGHHHH!

Obviously, I have a hard time putting up with all that grey. The northern central states around the Great Lakes are the same way - except it's snow, not rain. So, Significant sections of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and western New York state are off my radar as places to possible live. Some LOVELY places up there to visit, even in the depths of winter, when there is 10 ft of snow (like in the U.P. of MI) they can be lovely. But I can't stand that every day.

I'm in Massachusetts at the moment. We had a very nice January thaw, temps up to 40's and 50's F (4-13 C). This past week has been pretty cold, temps from 0 F up to the teens (-18 to -4 C). Snow has been - hmm - intermittent (?) this year. We've had a couple decent snows, but not more than a foot at a time, and every time it has eventually melted away before the next snow. Massachusetts is like that. A little north of here, in NH and VT, the snow is much more significant.

I'm still putting in mileage on my bike - but you have to realize I'm only doing 4-5 miles a day. I take our two dogs out for a run - I ride. Last fall, I started doing a local off-road trail with the dogs, and I get a more significant workout that way. Fartlek training, so time counts more than miles. In miles the trail is probably 3-4, but some good hills and single-track. The dogs love the woods, I get a workout. Better for me than the park.

With the cold, and the wind, I have to make sure I have good skin coverage on these cold days to prevent frostbite. On the really cold days, I pull out my Russian hats, from the year I worked there. Normally, they are just too warm for our winters.

Time and circumstances permitting, I may be able to get back to more significant mileage late this year or next year.

Yes, that's it. My favorite weather!

Temperatures are moderate, often a good 30 degrees warmer than here, the hills and valleys are green all year long, instead of endless trees of sticks here. Lush valleys and forests. :):):)

The gray stuff is hard to take...for me. I could not live in that climate...but visiting I think it's beautiful and I love the moisture for a short while.

Colorado is lucky to get a lot of sun..which helps mentally...it was freaking cold here last month...5...9...teens F..but when the sun shines it helps fight the gloom.

I am tired of our dry heat in the summers though. Too many days of scorching 90s..oh well..it's always something! :D

Watch the ice though!

It's raining something insane on the east coast of Australia at the moment.

Yeah it is, ex-Tropical Cyclone Oswald is dumping huge amounts of water.

Brisbane is going flood again apparently. Not good.

Record floods in other parts of Queensland.

I was at Surfers Paradise until yesterday, I got home to Sydney expecting some sunny weather and it's just as bad :(.

It looked quite dangerous there, though. The waves ate up almost all of the beachfront, I think they're in for a storm surge soon.

Cloudy and about to rain ..12 C currently in Athens. ( Greece).

@Alpe d'Huez

Your photo is impressive.. I've never seen in my life frozen falls.

Do you have some kind of special gear, ( perhaps snow tires and snow clothes) to get for a bike ride in the snow, at least when temperature gets a little higher, or you don't ride at all in winter? :)

Still more than a foot of snow on the ground here, and below average, below freezing temps. No riding, can't even go hiking. :(

Hah. Wimpy, wimpy! I took my dogs out in the woods yesterday, in the snow. Trying to track a coyote who showed up on Monday. That was a no-go - on Tuesday it warmed enough to melt the surface of the snow - and the tracks were gone. We did find a deer.

Alitogata: I'm still taking my bike out - with fenders on days when the snow is melting on the roads. Knobbies (tires) are a help, but I can't do the trails because the snow is too deep.

Mind, I'm dressing for the cold. A few days lately I've gotten out my Russian winter gear for truly cold weather. But I AM getting tired of the cold this winter. I'll be glad when it clears a bit.

Isn't dangerous to ride when the snow is melting? I mean it must be very slippery even with the right tires.
The other day I had an accident when I slipped while it was raining, ( there's rarely snow here and when it snows this lasts usually for a couple of days so I don't bother to get out whenever and if it does..). I suppose that riding in the snow must be worst than in the rain.

You must live in a very rural place. Coyotes !! There are no coyotes here. How do they look like?? :D:p

Cold, drizzling rain, a bit windy - typical for western Oregon at this time of year.

I had encountered another rider this morning, her and I agreed we should have worn some gloves! (Sorry, I'm new to this bicycle riding stuff, I had ordered some gloves online and they were too big. Had to send them back and am waiting for some smaller ones. [Cannot afford the local retailer's prices.])

MEEH! Sometimes the sun breaks out, like I think I've seen it once today, but mostly it's just grey with an occasional bit of "snaiw" (as in, when the weather can't decide whether it wants to snow or to rain.)

Here it's beautiful, sunshiney and rather warm (without being inhumane.)

Yup! I'm mainly posting this to make everybody affected by the Italian Weather jealous! :D
Yep great weather here in Denmark. Although I'd gladly change it with the Italian if that meant that we'd get live pictures of today's stage
