Had a beautiful ride just a couple of hours ago this eve - just enough sun (before it went down), about 60F, no wind.

(Felt a bit fat around all the "in shape" runners on the trail, but my riding season is still young.)

Still bitter cold winter in the US Northeast. I think the high temperature today is still below freezing, and high winds. Good chance it will snow yet again tomorrow.

We would actually love all your snow out here in the west, we have virtually no snowpack in the mountains. (Which means very poor water levels downstairs where us, the peoples, actually live.)

We depend on snow to give us water.

I was going to say that I did a Puerto Nuevo Mexico to National City California(140 k round trip) ride today in perfect weather, mid 70's breeze, super sunny, but the last @30k of the ride included two 25 yo Mexican studs that made the ride feel like 100 degrees and 100mph..temp still the same and a few 35kph spurts but my fat self was really suffering when they turned up the heat..I was glad that I could non-verbally communicate that I couldn't pull through...the weather in Northern Mexico is outstanding.
They offered to wait for me but I had to give up..

69F, sunny, and rather gusty - had a beautiful (but challenging) ride earlier today

Right, so what made it challenging was the usual suspects on the trail - very heavy, elderly gentlemen riding an echeleon from the opposite direction, thereby blocking anyone coming from the other direction. Thankfully they had left a meter on the trail for me (coming from the other direction) so I could just barely get by. (How generous of them, but that is what you come to expect of these riders.)

Anyhoo - No matter the weather this doesn't upset me anymore, I just know what I'm in for whenever I see them.

PS - This is a two-way trail.

For the love of all that is aero - I had another enjoyable ride earlier today.

It was sunny, about 70F, very gusty (if I actually played golf I'd call this a Links course)...

Disregarding the usual road furniture (I really did actually like the looks of that female Boxer doggie :)), I'm just happy I had no mechanical.

Would love to hear from the rest of you, btw., and how your rides are going. In whatever weather you happen to be riding in.

Right, so today's ride (my usual 10k) was a bit of a *** - 57F, sudden rain, sudden wind gusts coming from all over the place...

But I did manage to go at the blazing speed of 28.3 km/h (as compared to 27 km/h the other day) - I'm so proud of myself. :D

PS - I feel that I should clarify that these are my max speeds. My average speed - well, let's just not even speak of it.

Sunny, 62F, gusty wind - I suppose I should expect the gusts by now being the trail runs right along a river. (Which is actually really refreshing when the temps go up high in the summer) ...

Took bike no.1 ("Little White Porsche", as I like to call her) out for a spin - she's a bit of a sketchy 26", steel frame comfort bike (the rear wheel/hub are not so well), so I took it real easy.

Still enjoyed the ride, though, saw a bunch of Canadian geese with their feathery little babies trying to cross the trail. Naturally I stopped for them, they were just to die for. :)

Sunny, gusty, about 80F - couldn't have been arsed to ride in this being bike no.1 (the "Little White Porsche") needed so much work.

Replaced the hub, re-laced the rear wheel (halfway competently)... she may just be ready to go for Giro's 2nd stage!

(Just bear with me here - I'm very new to cycling, and to the exceptionally difficult mechanical aspects of it. :))

59F, gusty, rain - took bike no.3 (the "Not a Bianchi", as I like to call her) out for a spin...

She behaved well, except for the front brakes. (They just started making that swooshy sound, which I absolutely abhor at this point in my very serious cycling career!)

Can't quite tell where this might be, or the temp, or anything else.

So, sir fly, could you give me (us) a hint?
It's been very cloudy, at the edge of rain, all day. Windy (20-25kph) and the temperature was in mid 10s.
At the end of my ride the Sun started to break through the clouds, enlightening the river and city by its sheaves of light. Unfortunately, the phone camera in a hand that has just finished a 50k ride can't conjure the full image.
The river you see is the Danube.
