Some freezing nights are supposed to descend upon us in my area - so far our winter has been pretty mild and typical. (Lotsa rain ) But maybe we'll see some snow yet... I just hope we don't get any more 4 inches of ice like last year.
Yes, the artic blast has been trickling to us, but is supposed to slam us this weekend, and hang around for 7-10 days. I dislike cold, but I really dislike single digits!

We've had quite a bit of fog lately and as I was walking Tandy this evening I had to wear a headlamp because it was already dark... as I was walking I could see a gazillion tiny fog particles reflecting off my headlamp, it was actually kinda cool. (If it had been a few snowflakes it would have been cool too. But not too many, at least not until I got back home and could watch them from my window. :))

That is the only cool thing about the inversions we get here in the valley, night dog walks are like walking through some type of crystal fantasy.

Not another polar vortex - I can vividly remember the one that hit us last year in mid-January! For 3 straight days Denver will see below freezing daytime highs & single digit/below 0 nighttime lows (averages for this time of year are 48/20). Monday is predicted to be absolutely brutal for the Rockies, Plains & Midwest!

Hope you won't freeze too badly, or at least are well-prepared for the frosty weather!

We're into the second freezing night here in Eugene, it's currently about 25F. (I know, it's nothing dramatic, but I'm cold!) It's supposed to freeze at night for at least another week, and being we have glass sliding doors that have very poor insulation I've resorted to buying this stuff. (It's a cheap and not too unsightly quick-fix that can easily be removed when no longer needed.)

Great recommendation & I used them for some drafty bedroom windows during last year's polar vortex. This year I put them on the same bedroom windows in November & I'll just keep them on all winter long. They really work - the bedroom is insulated & toasty warm at night. I also use a small Lasko space heater that I move from room to room. That really helps to & I don't have to constantly run the furnace during these cold spells.

Much like last years, this has been one brutal polar vortex for the Denver-metro! Three days of bitter cold with single-digit daytime highs & sub-0 nighttime lows! Hardly any sunshine with mostly overcast skies & occasional snow. It was difficult just to venture to the gym, but I didn't want to miss any work outs since the roads were in pretty good shape.

One more day of this crap - tomorrow we break out with sunny skies & temps soaring into the 40s!!!

Snow on the ground right now here in Eugene that actually stuck! (Kind of rare in these parts so had to take a pictured of it before it's all gone again.)

Eastern San Diego county, windy rain for 3 days.. Supposed to stop Friday..
We had a few warm and sunny days in Eugene but now we're getting rain again, and some wind! I don't mind the rain though, we need it to fill up our lakes and rivers and such in preparation for what might be another long and hot summer.

San Diego has a pretty flimsy infrastructure, like most of Southern California, massive rainfall, flooding and winds ,tornadoes, none of that's the norm, so not much is designed into system. And despite all our bad weather, compared with Texas with many, many deaths, big rig trucks flipping over in the wind, Missouri terrible conditions.. Mine was not all that bad in comparison. And silver lining, ski areas stay open longer, snow pack gets us more water and better reservoir capacity.

Great cycling weather.
Around 12ish degrees (celsius), and slightly cloudly.

@Unchained: Did it stop raining?
Rain is gone..23c and sunny. One of the biggest bike races starts on the 9th..40th anniversary of Redlands Cycling Classic.. Looks like plentiful sunshine in Southern California!! Sea Otter is also going on @400 miles north!!

My bad...no hidden weather message. Lol. This is what I get for not double-checking the thread that I posted on. Deleted & reposted on the appropriate thread.

Let me put it this way:

I don't Denmark suffer from drought-like conditions anytime soon...

And now I'm getting a "Warning of moderate rain"...
