Youth CQ Ranking Game 2014

Page 4 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
I guess it's because he has not ridden any races listed on cq yet. And riding for the Caja Rural junior team this year it's also unlikely to change, he will do mostly Copa de España and thinks like that I think, maybe one or two international races in Italy later on

Update 1.1 - AG Acquires Greatness

The first Yellow Jersey of the Youth CQ Ranking Game 2014 is presented to AG with points from Howson in the Australian Nationals TT and Earle (10) and Norris (5) in the Road Race. Plenty of other teams also scored with Howson, and other points this week came to Tuart for Jack Anderson in the TT (7) and for Ram aka Multiidfurknugget who also scored with Norris. As far as I can tell no points coming in from NZ.

Update 1.2 - Senechal Shines, anticipation for Alaphillipe

With a strong performance on stage 1 in Tropicale Amissa Bongo young french rider Florian Senechal gets decent points for 8th on GC (35). No other riders scored points this week (edit SEQUERA Pedro
scored a single point for Pentacycle), but another jeune Français showed himself well in the non point scoring TDU classic. We have 4 teams in equal first (pairing Senechal's points with Howson's from last week) with Bellsax getting a nominal yellow jersey as the team closest to 'breaking even' having used the least of the budget of the 4 in equal first.

Update 1.3 - Gaimon teams make Gains

Where Gerrans dominates the main game, Gaimon dominates the youth game, perhaps even more so. Scoring a massive 124 points from 2nd on GC, victory in stage 1 and subsequent leader's jerseys. The 4 teams featuring the not so young 1st year 'pro' also dominate the scoring charts. Hilltopfinisher goes from equal first to first outright, with Fus87, BYOP and vmart77 making a close battle for the remaining podium spots. There were also promising starts for Bolivar and Adam Yates in San Luis, with the only riders I can see that picked up more than 5 points for finishing TDU were Broeckx (16) and Haig (26). Haig and Yates also picked up the respective youth jerseys although they're not rewarded with points for that achievement.

Update 2.1 - Vink's Victory, Wippert wins and Pibernik places

Although the Tour Down Under is finished and the Herald Sun Tour yet to get underway there was still racing in the Oceania Tour in the form of New Zealand Cycle Classic. Taking advantage of this was AG and her selection of the Kiwi Michael Vink who one the opening prologue and held the leader's jersey to the completion of the race netting 38 points in the process. Also showing themselves in the 2.2 race were Wouter Wippert winning two stages and James Oram taking the Queen stage and placing 2nd overall to Vink. Back in Europe and was the Italian season opening that brought in a few points for Pibernik placing 8th, and Villella and Polanc picking up points for top 20 finishes.

Wagenge rockets up the table combining Wippert's 10 points with Pibernik's 20 and the 14 Adam Phelan got for the GC in New Zealand, for the week's leading total of 44, enough to send him 39 places better off this week. Fellow Cycling4fans forum member vmart77 manages to take over in third. AG jumps 11 places to 5th.

Update 2.2 - Hansen and Haig, help themselves to Podium Points

Hansen in Dubai and Haig at the Herald Sun Tour are the top point scoring riders this week with 71 points each. Haig (unique for Arb) now overtakes Gaimon (443%) as the rider with the best % return (1213%) in the game. Hansen too is a relatively rare pick and is only on 9 teams. One of those teams however is our leader hilltopfinisher and he extends his lead over 2nd placed Fus87 by over 70 points to 134. Other points this week were scored by Groenenwegen who thought he had won the Trofeo Palma but had to settle for 40 points for 3rd, as uniquely did Pentacycle. asdfgh101 pairs Hansen's 71 with 28 from only promising performance for a Garmin neopro from Van Baarle to be the week's top scorer, enough for a 58 place jump into the top 10.

Update 2.3 - Minessa moves up as Vakoc catches on quick

Sorry for the delayed update. Not many points scored for this update, but Minessa's unique pick of Petr Vakoc starts to pay dividends as having being part of the break of the day at Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana, he was able to back up his teammate Kwiatkowski's victory with 5th place and 32 points. In an interesting development our leader, and several other teams, actually lost a point this week as Calvin Watson's GC position from Herald Sun Tour was reclassified (seemingly with George Bennett move up a few places).

Update 2.4 - Another quiet week

Another relatively quiet week for the riders in the game, the top scorer being Villella with 28 points, there are only 5 other scores this week, Earle 18 points, Sam Bennett, Norris and Rufoni all 10 points, Anderson (5pts) and Polanc and Grosu (4pts). Two teams match Villella, Bennett and Ruffoni to total 48 points for the week 18 Valve and, last year's third place finisher MADRAZO. Both also feature in the top movers lists.

Update 3.1 - Bennett Bonanza

An intriguing week for the game, with points seemingly in the bag for several riders well placed in GC at the Tour de Langkawi. However the biggest points this week come to the teams with the young Irishman Sam Bennett, with a demonstration of strength and speed at Classic de Almeria.

With points from GC in Malaysia still to be paid out Ruudz0r is looking forward to a bumper points haul next update, and likely the leadership too. Kudus and Bolivar score points from their stage placings from Genting Highlands and with Bennett on his books as well Ruudz0r takes the high points scorer honour for the week. Also looking to make a big leap next week will be Pentacycle, who shares the rare combo of Kudus, Bolivar and Ziloli with Ruudz0r.

Although one of the highest scorers this week of the teams without Bennett our leader looks to be under huge pressure with no points to come from Langkawi hilltopfinisher will need some breakout performances from his squad to maintain the lead.

Update 3.2 - Ruudz0r Rises, Pentacycle in Pursuit

With no major changes in the GC for the Tour de Langkawi, Ruudz0r manages just shy of 300 points, with 299 - minor points coming from Zabel - 15pts and Senechal - 8pts, to give the edge over Pentacycle who also has Kudus, Bolivar and Zilioli. With 1st and 2nd in the weekly scores these two teams also take over in 1st and 2nd place in the rankings. Also showing well in Malaysia was Michael Kolar, in the sprints, getting close to 50% of his 2013 points total.

Other points this week came from 3 Days of West Flanders, with points for Dillier (48), Van Baarle (28), and Rick Zabel (15) among others.

Up 22 places, nice! :) Thank you Kudus. If only I had taken Dillier too, could have placed myself just outside the top 10. Picked him for the main game and emerging riders game.
