My boy!! And a very respectable top10 field.
He’s looking good… as soon as he improves his positioning he’ll be a step closer to win bigger races

It looked like he was fourth on the footage but apparently not.

And no, they are not good sprinters for climbers at all, usually. Okay, better than Nieve and Landa but that doesn't say a lot.

Oh, @Ilmaestro99: German commentary went on for quite some time about Masnada. :D
He finish at the back of the group, losing no time. Could be a worse start.

I didn't see the today stage. How was Fausto looking? Obviously it seems he will be working for joao this week rather than getting his own chances.

With quickstep team I don't see how Almeida/Cattaneo/Masnada can lose this.

He was doing quite a bit of pulling on the flat from the last 30K or so that I saw. So definitely there in support this time it seems. Prep race for next year's giro

I only started watching with about 35k to go but at that time he was already pulling the peloton with little help from other teams so I'm very impressed that he still made it into the front group after all that work.

Part of me wants Luxembourg to have a bigass Ardennes classic instead of a 5 day low key stage race.

Meanwhile, Caleb Ewan dead last on his own. Did something happen to him?

Sick Nibali 34th.
Masnada 35th.
Probably the two best gc riders in the world.

Ewan is keen on the World's so he will suffer through an unsuitable race - Actually if he rode Slovakia he'd nearly win the GC on that parcour.
