Valverde, well at least he forced the decision himself by reeling in Moreno with a very impressive accelaration.

Alaphilippe sprinted the fast though but was hindered by Costa...

Lol what???

Costa swerved to block him.

Being biased is a sad thing

I may be biased, but you're just a frustrated one always pretending to be neutral by arguing against Portuguese riders, which, ironically, makes you biased.

No please if you could stop acting all high and mighty and and quit the swagger the forum would appreciate.

Did you even re watch the finish?

Yes, I did.

The worst spring classics season in recent history. Absolutely none really good races.

Yeah the Ardennes are always bad but Ronde and Roubaix were disappointing too.
And two wins for Piti, doesn't get much worse, does it?

Exactly!

Save for Kristoffs win (and that's strictly from a Norwegian point of view) this was pretty much a spring classics campaign from my worst nightmares!

Valverde should write a check to Stybar.
huge check :D
There won't be a friendly atmosphere at Czech nats btw :p

These two are great professionals, so no.
I know,thats why the tongue :p

Btw Alaphillipe is insane! Caruso very solid too.

I'm biased, but Kreuziger was insane too, or even more insane, doing the most work in the attack than covering moves after group caught them, strong on the last climb too even without powers he had to lose in the attack. On thinks what spot could he reach if waiting for the last climb than attack...it wouldn't be worse than that fifth place. Could be on podium probably. But that's IF... :) What's wrong with Majka? Kiserlovski? CAS? Doing very little work for Roman.

Zneněk, do you know how many Czechs you have made angry? Denying Roman from his shot, bringing Kwiat and and Alpha back... Mein Gott, Dios míos... And Valverde reasserted himself among the best in the history of cycling.

So what part of Costa swerving left did you miss? It was the right thing to do by Costa and it hindered Alaphillip's sprint, which was it's objective. Shame it didn't fully work.

Of cuorse Costa went left, but in no way intending to spoil Alaphilippe's sprint, as you're implying. Costa started his move left to catch Purito's slipstream and he was doing the diagonal before Julian, himself, moved right a bit following Rodriguez.

I do not think Costa did anything wrong but by swinging across the road to try and grab Valverde's wheel he boxed Alaphilippe in and meant he could not come right off of Rodriguez's wheel to go around Valverde immediately. Doubt he would have passed Valverde anyway but I have not seen overhead view to be really sure. When he did cross in front of Costa, he was ahead of Costa and going faster than Costa so I do not think it effected Costa at all.
Neither rider did anything wrong, it was just how they were positioned.

I think the objective was to grab Valverde's wheel not to block Alaphilippe, but it did box him in, although perhaps Alaphilippe should have trying going left of Rodriguez.

Great result for Valverde. Particularly as it seems to have annoyed so many of the sanctimonious biased know it alls on this forum. Laughed all my way through my celebratory glass of the very best cava.

it's a team sport not a country sport.

Of course, I just exaggerated my frustration a little bit.

I'm glad he won too. The guy controlled the race was start to finish. He even neutralized Stybar's brutal downhill pace. Legendary rider.

Nibali is starting to annoy me quite a lot. It was clear in Amstel and Fleche that he doesn't have the level to be competitive, so why not try and attack from further out and helping his stronger teammates? Instead he attacks with 6 k to go when his team mate is still in front only to get dropped right after. Ridiculous.

Yep,I pointed out earlier that he did great race.Best from 2013 Tour imo, we will se how he goes at Giro (pity he cant do TdF as his priority).Ofcourse he lacks strong finish so he needed to attack, but it was entertaining and he provoked actioned, very well done.

Because you said that. I didnt see Quintana helping in any way to Valverde in Fleche nor Liege. In fact, I didnt see Quintana except the moment everybody saw him recovering from his crash today. He was the one supossed to be with Valverde at the very end of the races.
